    New CBA

This may have been answered somewhere but has anyone seen any question or statement from EA regarding the possible new CBA? I wonder if once it happens and things such as the rookie wage scale become official can that be added into the game via patch or are we just going to wait until next year?

I would have thought that things like that get put in Madden 13, rather than a Madden 12 patch. I'd love to get proved wrong though.

Hopefully they have Josh (and the team) on standby to unravel all of their offline franchise work so far, add what's needed and then we're good to go ????

I highly doubt something like that would be available in a patch. Course, I'd love to be proven wrong here, but I wouldn't hold my breathe. Not unless you've got lungs of steel and can hold for a whole nother year

I think they will be waiting until next year. It will take sometime to code that into the program. I think Josh mention that they are already in the process of working on Madden13 right now. So I highly doubt it will make it in this year. I might be wrong, but the odds are low far as making it in via patch update.

I don't think it's likely to happen for 12 at least, the financials are dumbed down quite a bit when it comes to player contracts and whatnot anyways.

I'd expect the slotted salaries to be in 13 at least, probably not much of any other financial changes like the adjustments to minimum spending/salary floor until player compensation is reworked if ever.

Yeah, I think that it would be extremely unlikely that the Madden team would have time to code, bug check, re-code, re-bug check, re-code, re-re-bug check and re-re-code the franchise mechanics with out breaking something else in the game for the new CBA to be in the game. Given that we don't infact have a new CBA yet. If they did patch that I would be very, very surprised/impressed.

this, since they were unable to give us RFA or even trade future draft picks before this year (took it out in '08 and still no RFA in this year actually), there is no reason to think they will get slotted draft picks in there this year...

Well I figured that but the brutal part of that entire statement is the part where he says," Depending on how complicated it is, we'll see if we can get it next year."! Dang, seriously! Maybe next year?

It could be pretty complicated, wouldn't make sense to go through a big process to sign draft picks if they aren't able to overhaul the whole contract system in the game.

Or it could be as simple as each pick also having a cap number attached to it on every screen and they're automatically signed.
