CPU Playcalling AI?
Has anyone noticed the CPU playcalling is very run oriented? I just played a game as Cleveland and Indy and I was up 20-17 with 1:50 to go in the 4th. Indy's ball 1st and 10 on their open 37. They need this series or it's game over.
They call: 1st down Edge James left - 2 yds 2nd down Edge James Right - 3 yds 3rd down Edge James Left 2 yds 4th down - screen pass to Edge James no yards I played with 8 min quarters and Manning had 8 attempts and James ran 20 times. Just seems a bit odd. Was this a flukey thing or have you guys seen a lot of weird playcalling as a rule? I also think passing is way too easy on defauklt All Pro, but that's what the sliders are for. |
Re: CPU Playcalling AI?
How was your run defense? Were they gaining alot of yards against you on the ground? maybe thats why they kept banging away.

Re: CPU Playcalling AI?
I've played three 5 min-qtr games so far and the run/pass ratio for the CPU seems very balanced.

Maybe it was a one time thing. Hope so.

Re: CPU Playcalling AI?
Just played my first franchise game vs the Jets and Pennington threw for almost 300 yards against me.. Martin had 65 rush yards on 17 attempts. I won 33-10

Re: CPU Playcalling AI?
Bill, I think it goes with what works. The Titans ran all over me early, and even after I shut it down, they tried to keep plugging away. I think it might be a good simulation of gameplanning. They figure you one way, and try to re-organize their plan, but no team can completely overhaul it with great success very often.
Dunno, need to play more to be sure. |
