...And not completely revamp the fastbreak system? Does anyone else agree with me? The transition game of the Showtime Lakers was that teams most memorable feature. And the Celtics having to deal with that in 3 different Finals was huge too. Shoot, you can say the same for a bunch of teams, including Jordan's Bulls.

IMO, the transition game is the worst part of the NBA2k experience. AI players make the dumbest decisions on fast breaks (Such as flaring out to the corners, even though there's an open lane), or slowing down to a slow jog. There's a bunch of other issues, like a C (For instance, Shaq) being able to keep up with a fast wing on the open court (You can even see this in the first trailer, IIRC), or the fact that it's hard to get a call even when your player is knocked to the ground from the air.

Fantastic games overall, but it seems like all the brilliant game elements break down when changing possessions, or running on the open court.

I'm saying that the game should accurately reflect the classic teams that are most likely going to be in the game. If you're going to highlight those two players, then at least have the game accurately portray their playing style.

Fair assessment. I did find it rather bothersome I couldn't do a running hook shot with Magic Johnson on the 91' Lakers.

One gripe I've had with 2K has been that on fast breaks, even when holding the Sprint button, there isn't really a significant burst of speed. I understand momentum changes and no one is able to go from 0-25mph from standstill.

But for instance, the actual player movement in sprinting is what bothers me. Rose,LeBron, and Wade are prime examples:

Wade and LeBron get out in the open court extremely fast. I'd just like to see their speed represented as close to real life as possible.

I don't think it would be much of a cheese if implemented properly. Because again, they wouldn't go from a standstill 0mph to 25mph by just holding the Sprint button. Player momentum physics would be a big part of it just like it is in real life.

Just my two cents on the subject of fast breaks.

The sprint button and fast break system needs to be updated so players like Derrick Rose, Russell WestBrook , and Wade can kill in transition and big men are way to slow I just think they need to revamp the whole speed system

Gotta be carefull with the speed because when they start running into people it will be a charge, blocking foul, or injury and that needs to be incorporated into the game..Cant just run hard straight into people and think there is no consequence.

yea this does happens and i can confirm of this issue myself but does it carry such a penalty to halt the first time nba 2k will have multiple cover athletes(live did it before with different cover athletes for different regions n i heard no such complaints)
the fast break needs work alright the animation for running fast while dribbling is off, the bounces should be less and further from the body with more extensions on the arms and bent over not upright.
they already confirm that the added walking up the ball which is the slowest way to move up the court so am kinda confident they might pay attention to the fastest way to get the ball up the court likewise

Every aspect of how the fast break works in this game needs to be redone, IMO.

That little hesitation when a player first catches the ball should be gone for all but the most non agile bigs. It allows too much recovery and set up by the defense.

In that same vein, too many defenders are too conscientious about getting back on D. There needs to be more loafing, indecision, and miscommunication in defensive transition.

Players on the wing need to run the lanes with a purpose, as well as an understanding of angles, spacing, and knowledge of the secondary break.

Lastly, passing must be fixed. Much of the problem in this area is due to the crappy spacing and lack of 45 degree cuts, but still the ball is thrown right to the defender way too often. The lack of kick ahead passes also crushes break opportunities.

I don't remember if it was on Twitter or in an interview, but one of the 2K devs or someone said something about doing a push ahead dribble while they were playing.

I also noticed a push-ahead dribble by LeBron on a vicious drive to the bucket.
It would be awesome if they can be done off of rebounds to get the fastbreak going like D.Wade did in that video.

You are absolutely right. While NBA 2k11 is an awesome game; on All-Star and above it really destroys your ability to run the fast break by making your players take terrible paths, slowing you down or otherwise flatly cheating. I've had my player on the fast break try to take an outside path despite me attempting to come down the middle. I've also had the slightest touch on the joystick result in the player trying to do some ridiculous move to slow him down needlessly.

I really, really hope 2k allows us to run the fast break in 2k12. PLEASE let us run the fast break and stop forcing human fast breaks to fail.

If I see a anyone come up from behind me on the fast break and make me pick up my dribble I will upset. Biggest annoyance for me in an otherwise great game.
