    Receivers

While I'm not one who usually complains about a game and I do love this one, they need to fix receiver play. There is no such thing as a jump ball in this game which I find ridiculous. Also recievers catch balls too close to their body too often. They also catch them much too low a lot resulting in picks or knockaways that shouldn't happen. I just think they need to rework the catch animations.
    It's a canes thing.

Exactly my point as to why they need to rework the catching interaction.

I cant tell you how many times i have had a WR wide open standing still on stick plays, throw them the ball only to have them make no attempt to catch it. This is my biggest issue with this game. I dont mind getting hit and dropping the ball but when the WR decides he is just not going to catch the ball it is pretty frustrating. Running the Air Raid my drives are usually like this>>first down ball batted down by DL--second down WR drop while getting hit --third down Ball hits WR in the head PUNT!! (while cursing at the screen)

Have they ever in NCAA series? That is why I user control my receivers when the ball is in the air. I've gotten very good at it over the years.

i've always wondered what would actually happen if the WR catch slider was raised for those types of situations pointed out

I don't think I've seen a receiver jump to catch a pass yet unless he was wide open. On plays that should be jump balls the receiver just keeps running trying to catch it in stride while the DB actually makes a play on the ball.

I turned the catching slider up to 65 for both user and cpu it makes it a little easier to put the ball in the air and actually have the receiver get off his and make a catch. On crossing routes the seem to reach up more and catch the ball at head or shoulder level instead of catching it on the hip or slowing down to catch it. I've even seen cpu wideouts make an attempt to dive for overthrown streak patterns. Its just ashame that to "unlock" those animations you have to move the slider.

yep the slider effects the animations and also make the WR's more aggresive going after the ball.

the problem is not too many people like to increase that slider for fear it will make the game too easy to pass

But there are only two ways to make the WR's more aggressive either by ratings or by the WR Catch slider itself

It should be done by EA right out of the box but hey it's EA and they don't really test their games very well IMO
