SO WR Robert Woods looks to build off the success of his freshman year. Woods leads a very inexperienced but highly touted WR core.

DE Devon Kennard moves back to the line after a season at MLB. Kennard was a terror coming off the edge his freshman year and looks forward to being back with his hand on the ground

The Dilemma - To Redshirt or Not

WR George Farmer comes in a very highly touted wideout. Farmer is a 5 star WR coming out of Serra high school, the same school to produce sophomore sensation Robert Woods as well as incoming WR/S Marqise Lee. Farmer already has prototypical size standing 6'2 and weighing 205 pounds. Already having great size, Farmer is a burner and is more than likely already SC's fastest WR on the roster. Having limited scholarships available, USC must be smart with their recruiting and the redshirting of players. The WR core this season is very talented but lacking of experience. If Farmer plays, USC can have a possible repeat of Woods last season in Farmer.

The Coaching Staff

HEAD COACH - Lane Kiffin - Lane is entering his second year as the coach of the USC Trojans.

OFFENSIVE COORDINATER - Kennedy Polamalu
Kennedy Polamalu returns to the USC Coaching Staff. Polamalu, formerly the RB coach was expected to be working for the Tennessee Titans of the NFL but came to SC when Lane came calling.

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR - Monte Kiffin
Kiffin hopes this seasons Defense is much improved over last years. A second year for all the players should work wonders and show the improvement.

LEAD RECRUITER - Ed Orgeron
Ed-O is often the man doing all the work to bring the talented freshman to LA. Orgeron is also the teams Defensive Line coach.

Re: FIGHTING ON vs the sanctions: Restoring USC to dominance

Week 1 Preview

Keys to the game - Offense - The key, not only for this game but for the entire season will be the play of the offensive line. Gone are previous starters Tyron Smith (#9 draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys), LG Butch Lewis (graduation), C Kristopher O'Dowd (Graduation) and G Michael Reardon (graduation). USC will have almost an entire new line this year and guys playing in new positions. Shifting from RG to C will be JR Khaled Holmes. Kevin Graf, who backed up Matt Kalil at LT will slide over to the RT position where he will battle with new comer JUCO transfer Jeremy Galten. John Martinez also shifts over to LG from RG where he is projected to start the season. Starting at RG this year will be Martin Coleman, who backed up Smith at RT last season. Not only are the Trojans in experienced on the line in terms of games played, but also at their positions. They are the key to keeping Barkley on his feet and opening holes for the USC stable of backs. If they falter, look for a long season for Trojan fans.

Keys to the Game - Defense - The key for victory for the defense is containing superstar RB Marcus Lattimore and dual threat QB Stephen Garcia. The main area to watch is the battle in the trenches. Devon Kennard moves back to the defensive line after spending last year as the Trojans starting Middle Linebacker. The Trojans also get DT Christian Tupuo back this season as he missed all of last year with an injury and was granted a 5th year of eligibility. Next to Tupuo will be a rotation of Armond Armstead and red-shirt freshman George Uko. In passing situations, Nick Perry and Kennard look to provide a fierce pass rush so look for the linebacking core to keep a spy on Garcia at all times.

Re: FIGHTING ON vs the sanctions: Restoring USC to dominance

Looking good my friend.

Decided to keep Farmer active but not start?

I see a very tough schedule. 3 Top-25 non-conference opponents, could equal 3 loses. Well at least 1 for sure in Week 4
