DT sacks only? DE never reach the QB

Well i´m seeing this more and more. DT makes 90% of the sacks for the DL. DE rarely sacks the QB.

Anyone else experience this?

Funny you bring this up. I'm a DC for Memphis, so i just call the plays. My DT lead the nation in sacks with 15.5

He was a 71 overall

No slider adjustments help, and its not due to the Roster Glitch.....EA just (expletive) it up really bad this year

I'm in my 2nd year as Washington State and my left end leads my team in sacks. I find that he and another DT get to the quarterback almost an equal amount of times. I think my end is just lucky at times. He's like 77 ovr.

I'm pretty sure I'm the exception and not the rule with as many people that have reported problems though.

Yeah, I think they need to crank up the pressure generated by Defensive Ends. It seems if you bring blitzers off the edge it takes them an eternity to get there as well.

On the flip side, there's probably too much pressure up the middle from the Tackles. Steeler even caught a couple of instances in his video where the problem lies - the offensive lineman just disengages his block and let's the tackle go right to the QB after a second or two.

Hopefully EA adjusts this via a tuner patch like they did last year.

Not seeing this. My Ends do good. My DTs will get sacks if I pull an End to the other side etc.

Its funny because Madden last year had the exact same problem. No matter who the LT was he was pass blocking like a hall of famer. The defensive tackles were using the invincible swim move of death to sack the quarterback. Now instead of the swim move its the rip move with college defensive tackles.

in the first year of my dynasty, my DT did have over 10 sacks....but my 2 DE's also has close to 10 each.

The video here pretty much sums it up. Watch the DEs. Over and over they run the same canned animation while the DTs have a variety of moves and angles of pursuit. I jacked up Jenkins, DE, FSU to 99 ratings across the board and matched him up against a LT whom I lowered the rating of to 50 across the board. Using Play Now mode Jenkins still ran the same animation and was still stood up over and over. With a ratings difference of that you would think Jenkins would beat the LT at least 70% of the time either by speed rushing right around him or outside/inside swim move.

You can occasionally get pressure from DEs evident by people reporting sacks by their DEs. However the dominant pass rushing DEs don't, well, dominate like they should or never use a repertoire of pass rushing moves to get after the QB unlike what the DTs do.

Setting your defensive line game plan to aggressive does help as well. In 2 games (out of 8) my jacked up Jenkins was able to go right around the LT twice and get a sack both times against low rated LTs. Other than those 2 plays though he ran the same flippin DE animation mirroring the other DE.

Not seeing this either. Playing a dynasty with Tennessee one of my DE's has had 10+ sack seasons two years in a row. The DT's are a little overly effective at times though.

I have a question about this. So after I learned that the CPU DE will not use rush moves, I decided to use the DE myself for a while. I was unable to get the rush moves to trigger manually, though. Has anyone else had this problem? I would wait till I engaged the OT, then use the L stick (left or right) and would get nothing but the patty cake animation.

I have found that if my I control my DT and pressure the QB if I can't get the sack the DE will clean it up for me. I haven't noticed the DE not getting and sack, my DE is the sack leader in the nation and I am using LBs 95% of the time.

Yep right there with you. I usually use the DT and just blast through the line regularly. Tried the DE and played patty cake with the T
