Am I the only one bothered by lack of a physical manual?
I haven't touched EA football in many years (burned badly by NCAA '07 and it took me this long to get over it...), and there are a lot of the pre-snap and in-game commands. This ain't exactly NES where there are only 2 buttons, and it's hard to remember what everything does. I understand if they don't want to print a full manual to the game (although cut the BS that it has anything to do with being "green"...), but they should at least put in a 1-page insert in the box with a list of the offensive and defensive commands. I can't tell you how many times, already, that my buddies and I are playing and we'll ask how you do something, and then wish we had a manual or a sheet to leave on the table that we could both look at during the game. The game has way too many commands to be able to just wing it.

It does feel like something is missing. But then again I havent looked at the manual since the sega days. I wanted to know the slide protection button. But, no manual! Lol oh well, just a sign of the times. My greatest College Hoops 2K PG ever: Cannon Morrison

Maybe I've just played the game for years but I don't have any issues with no physical manual.I haven't touched EA football in many years (burned badly by NCAA '07 and it took me this long to get over it...), and there are a lot of the pre-snap and in-game commands. Re: Am I the only one bothered by lack of a physical manual?
[QUOTE=Ziza9Noles94;2042680884]Yeah, I suppose you could do that, but it's a bit disruptive and kind of a pain...at least it is in relation to just glancing down at a sheet. Especially when you are playing w/ people that don't play the game regularly or have all the controls memorized - like, old-school, in-person multiplayer gaming with friends who may not be NCAA vets. Or maybe I'm just the only one that still does that as well...Comment

HAHA, No I do that too. I just went through that in-game manual and memorized what I needed. I thought you were unaware that it was in the game. My bad. I don't think the old paper manual needs to come back though (2011, deep in the digital age), but I do think that it would be cool if EA put it up on their forums or on the NCAA site as a pdf for those fans who want to print out a physical copy or have it on their phone, ipad, or laptop screen to reference during the game.
I looked online for you btw and couldn't find a .pdf of the manual.I bleed Garnet and Gold. In The 'Slim Reaper' We Trust. Go Noles!Comment

Re: Am I the only one bothered by lack of a physical manual?
The only time I ever look at the physical manual at all is when I buy the Take2 games (Grand Theft Auto, L.A. Noire, etc.) and only do I look at these manuals because
a) They tend to be entertaining in some way, shape, or form
b) They're definitely informational. They include a map of the city you're driving around in or whatever.
They're not informational because it tells me what button does what. Nope. All that stuff is in the game. And yea, the map is in the game, but it's nice to be able to look at the map WHILE driving or doing whatever (or have a friend looking at the map helping navigate while I play, or vice versa). But the basic controls? Don't need the manual for that.
I mean, what do you want in an NCAA manual? Push X to throw it to the receiver with the X over his head...Comment
