I've seen a lot of threads and people talk about this and how they hate it and i thought of something that could not only stop this but improve the passing game. What if when you threw the ball, there was a round guage when you hit the button. Sorta how in NBA games where it would go up and you had to hit the green zone for a perfect throw, but how about that applied to the amount of strength you put behind the throw. For instance if you hold it all the way til the end, it won't effect the accuracy but instead put the ball on a frozen rope. If you lightly tap it he will throw it sky high. This will also bring in the lacking intermediate throw of a bullet with some air under it. In Madden, you can only bullet or lob, what about that light bullet pass. This could introduce it and stop super LB's because it adds more types of throws than the standard 2. Think of how much better it would be if you could choose how much power you wanted to put the ball where it needed to be. This is what i mean by guage also, look at when they shoot, the bar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uelvLRg3VXc

If this were applied though, there would be a need for some additional ratings IMO. Ratings such as: release, footwork, etc. Just more detailed, precise ratings specific to QBs, other than just Throw Power, and Accuracies...
Great idea!"Believe in Now"

Re: simple, easy fix to super LB's
That sounds like a good idea, but there may be an easier way. For example I'll use X as my reciever:
Tap X = lob
Hold X throughout throwing motion = bullet
Hold X then release before QB lets the ball go = touch
This is how it was done for the ps2.BBC

Re: simple, easy fix to super LB's
This is exactly what im talking about, but with the meter it will increase the freedom of arm power into a throw, with ur thing, it only allows 3, one up from 2. With a meter it could be a great amount of different types of touch passes. Also just throwing it out now, if EA would like to incorporate accuracy or awareness as a variable into this, make it the width of the bar. Players like Peyton Manning and Drew Bress could have a thick bar right next to them or in the corner of the screen while a Jamarcus Russell would have a skinny bar making it harder to judge the throw. This would than implement Awareness to the user since it only plays a roll in sim.Comment

Get rid of the jumping and the CB's that knock a football down without looking. IMO it is cheating by the AI.MLB: Chicago Cubs

NBA: Chicago Bulls

Re: simple, easy fix to super LB's
From what I've seen from the e3 videos and the current videos that have come out in the past few days or so of the final version. I've really ain't seen any Super LBer like in NCAA12. So I think Madden12 final version should be fine.Last edited by PantherBeast_OS; 08-08-2011, 10:09 AM.Comment

Re: simple, easy fix to super LB's
I really like this idea, but I think having a green zone for perfect throws isn't a good idea. That is just putting more control into the AI. I say just have a meter and allow the user to decide what kinda throw he wants. That would really make a difference between people who actually know how to play and the ones who are good at releasing a button at a certain time.Comment

Re: simple, easy fix to super LB's
There isn't a super lb or super jump issue. There is a ball trajectory issue.
