Can't decide if I want to get 2k12 or not

I know there hasn't been alot of info, but the legends thing isn't really grabbing me right now. I feel weird playing a franchise with a team I won't get to watch this season. So my question is, should I get 2k12, or get an older NBA game from anywhere in the past 4 years and relive the old rosters in a franchise mode because I love doing that.

Well, this will be a tough long journey haha but if I get something older it will give me a chance to play something I would of normally not thought about because I have had my ps3 for about a year. Keep the replies coming!

Why wouldn't you get 2k12....? I couldn't see myself buying an older NBA game when an new one is about to come out....NBA season or no NBA season, I gotta have it.....Of course, I'm only speaking for myself....and what u choose to do is on you.....

Yea I did the nba today every single game for the wolves. That was the main thing I did with 2k11. I can't do that with 2k12

Franchise was fun but I can't stand seeing one of my players say for example wes Johnson on a different team. And if I don't trade anyone what do I do then?

If your a PC user, I'd torrent (download) it. I know that may be illegal, but I use it to make smart money choices. I did it for 2K10 and 2K11 and ended up buying them, as long as you buy it or uninstall it after a day or so I'd say it be your best bet. And no, I'm not promoting downloading and keeping it..

Normally after a game comes out, you're able to rent it, and make that decision.

True. I am a record bball fan but the NBA today was awesome for me. I might have to rent it. Maybe I will play the demo next month and change my mind. Thanks for the suggestions

Why decide now? Wait until the game comes out and read up on some reviews before deciding. Noones said you have to get it on release day.

For me it's a given since the game improves year over year. If you liked 2k11 there's no reason not to get 2k12.

Like others have said just rent it for a week and then make up your mind...With how 2K just keeps getting better and better every year I can't see how anyone will pass up 2k12 but that's just IMO....Anyways 2k basketball is like Madden and The Show it's always a first day buy for me.

No matter what, I get 2k every year. Who cares if your team isn't playing in the real? The gameplay improvements every year is why I buy the game. They also went through the trouble of adding even more legends and who knows maybe the early 90's Suns which I'm hoping will be there.
