Are field goals totally messed up?

At first I thought iw as me and I was doing something wrong. But I'm angling the kick to the right spot. hitting the markers. Kick goes wide. Field goals seem to be messed up.

I actually love the new system this year.

It's not completely boring like Madden 11 and not a guarantee like NCAA.

some people have said the last button press doesn't register correctly for them. It does for me. That might be your problem.

I can't speak for everyone but based on my experience, the last button press might not be registering because of users pressing X too early. What I noticed was that if I pressed X before the marker got to the last black line on the bottom (meaning I pressed too early and before it got into the "safe zone"), then any subsequent presses would not register.

I haven't had any issue's with field goals really. It does seem like the arrow is a lot more sensitive though. I would like to see them add into the game options the ability to set the difficulty of the kick meter so I could make it as tough as possible to make field goals really tough.

i have not had any problems with the fg's so far, i have actually missed some because i moved the arrow to much but other than that no problem's.

The first field goal I kicked happened to be a huge miss because the last button didn't register. But that was my fault, I didn't press it hard enough. Maybe that's the problem some are having?

After that I make sure to give that last button press some "authority" and it works every time. Avoid quick taps when kicking and make sure to fully press the button and it should work fine. I really like the new kicking mechanics.

No .. they're pretty much as easy as they've always been ..

How would you propose making kicking any harder? You can make the meter move faster or shrink the target area... but it's still just timed button presses. Anyone who plays video games with any regularity *will* master it in fairly short order.

The only solution I've got would be to make it completely automated and rely on player ratings... but then you just have people screaming about the computer cheating them any time they lose a game on a missed kick.

I havent had any problems with kicking. I don't think I've ever missed a field-goal in the demo. The only time I miss field goals in Madden or NCAA is when I try to kick one thats too far out for the power rating of the kicker or once in a blue moon when my finger slips.
