money talks!! i have a solution

money talks people!! instead of buying the game the day it comes out next year and being angry for a month, maybe more, while the devs at ea pat themselves on the back, we should do exactly what we've been forced to do with ncaa 2k8 basketball for years... all those great people in the community that edit all the rosters in record time after the release of the game should just edit the rosters of this years game to be current next year. have the release of the roster file coincide with the release of ncaa 13 and have all the same midnight release day parties! i don't think it would even be that hard, replace seniors with freshman, and re-rate everyone else. i call ncaa a 12 month purchase because i literally play the game until the next comes out, so by my calculations my 12 months wont be up until sometime in september next year. they'll get nervous when they see the pre-order numbers, and scared for their jobs when the sales figures come in. this way we can tell them, yes we like college football video games, but no selling broken games with a promise of a fix IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
    what say the community?

I think this is a great idea! There is no acceptable excuse for incompetence. I have worked with programmers and the truth is they just don't like to do play testing. This might give them a motivation for doing so.

I hate to rain on your parade because your intentions are solid, but i don't see there being any unity on this next year. The problem is, by the time the game is due to come out, the emotions have died down and the new optimism takes its place.

Lol That's a perfect example. Just label Lucy as EA Sports, the football as NCAA 12/13/whatever and Charlie Brown as the Consumers.

I really wish EA would come out with NCAA every two years, with the off year in between just releasing updated rosters and maybe minor stuff such as additional custom entrances, etc. Never going to happen, though.

Yeah people are just gonna buy it anyway once the hype machine kicks in.

Just wait 2 weeks and buy it used from gamestop. They HATE that.

I got burned with NCAA 9 and passed on 10...bought NCAA 11 and returned it a month later cause all the problems getting a patch out/fixing issues.

So this year, hype machine sucked me in and I was at a midnight release buying this game. Now here I sit with a busted damn game I refuse to play until its patched. SO, I will NOT buy NCAA 13 until at the earliest October 1st next year!

So i am in agreement...vote with your wallets!!!

I already had a similar idea. depending on how much control the patch gives up over cpu rosters, I'm just going to edit every recruit that is recruited into a real life counterpart. it might take awhile but it will save me 60 bucks

I like your idea. However, they are gonna suck people in again with some new bugged feature and unfortunately people will buy it. I bet they add something like a create a stadium option or an AD mode that people can't resist.

I am showing EA sports that they don't control my wallet. This year... I am skipping out on Madden REGARDLESS of gameplay fixes and other additions that I don't care for. The simple truth is they lied to our faces after putting out a letter last year saying that they didn't make any changes to online leagues in M11 so they could do it in M12....a year rolls around and I am supposed to forget that promise? No thank you EA.

Same thing goes this year for NCAA 12.... I like the game and I am having fun with it. Not saying there aren't problems but I can live with em. So next year.... if the same thing or a similar situation occurs... I am ok with playing NCAA 12 until NCAA 14. Those people who buy the game using the same old slogan "How can you not buy madden? it's madden! I need my football fix!" Need to wake up and realize...if you want a better game you have to show them you want a better game by not handing them your money. Otherwise they will hand you the same old slop game every year and give you the same excuses for why they haven't fixed what we requested to be fixed....

And of course I want to play an NFL Game this year.... but because Madden broke a promise that they told us they would keep. I will play NFL 2k5. We need to show EA that we have self control otherwise they wont take us seriously....

IF and it's a big if we could wait till the patch comes in mid september 2013 to buy the game that would be as clear a message as i can think of. the big problem i have is that i have loved the game since i started playing it back in the ps2 days. i think the reason people are so irate or passionate or however you want to say it is because we just want the game to work properly. since there is no competition because of the exclusive contract with the ncaa we should hold ea to a higher standard. they are the ones who tell us the game is great a good two to three months before it comes out and when its a bug riddled glitch machine its understandable for people to complain. i have a feeling its going to be a long ten months beating this drum.

Well the bad thing is, they tricked us this year. They went the smark route and told us internet folks in the preview vids, that all the stuff we'd been complaining about was now fixed. I'm talking about the Kirk Herbstreit voiceover that told us passing in the flats would not be as effective anymore, and suction blocking is gone.

Well, passing is in the flats is pretty much gone, period now, but not b/c of good programming, as much as just making the DE or CB already know the play and so they stand there waiting for you to throw the ball. And the suction blocking might be gone, but you get caught in an animation and the result is the same, if not worse in some cases. This year if a Dlineman is anywhere near you, you're getting sacked before you can get rid of the ball. SMH

My point is, they addressed us on this board pretty much directly in the game previews....which is a first to my rememberance. While that's flattering, it seems to have mostly been smoke and mirrors.

What can they possibly say next year that will make us trust them enough to run out day one and buy this game again?
