Speed threshold; High or low??
So what is the general consensus amongst everyone when dealing with speed threshold? Is it more realistic to have it set high or low? I play coach mode and want to see receive the most realistic stats/game play as possible. I've seen the numbers on threshold vary from 0 to 70. Not sure which way to go when starting up my dynasty. Thanks in advance for the info.Tags: None -

I set mine to zero. I believe that is the most realistic in my opinion.Comment

Re: Speed threshold; High or low??
I played several games with it on 43 and wasn't having much fun because I didn't like how it felt when controlling the players. I put it on 65 and have had 2 pretty fun and exciting games and like the overall feel of the game much better.Comment

Re: Speed threshold; High or low??
Had mine at zero, but post patch I saw some ridiculous runs by running backs with high 80 speed. Once they got even, they were leaving. I recently bumped the threshold up to 25, which feels much more in line with the ratings of individual players. That's on All-American, but I've played Heisman with that threshold and seen no real difference in speed or acceleration relative to other players on the field. I should mention I still have the CPU running back ability up at 85.Comment

Re: Speed threshold; High or low??
there are three things to consider
Threshold 0-100
Speed level
sliders
so its all relevant to each one of these. example
rb ability effects the speed of the guy with the ball in his hands at any position. so if you have rb ability high with a high threshold and speed level then your ball carrier will be flying around so this effects what you tackle rating for the d is. its all relevant. I play with 0 threshold and very slow speed level with sliders to go with these. thats the thing alot of guys struggle with. these three things must work in tandem. i would sudjest a speed level you like. then the threshold then your sliders. you can make very slow play just as fast as slow and maybe even normal. you can make normal play like slow or very fast. all relevant. this is why so many game play issues arent experenced by all. I havent seen a warping player or lb jump unrealiticly since a week after i bought the game. you need to test different sliders for no less than 4 games then go from there. hope that helps some. there is no cure all. players skill levels factor into this also, so if you suck and im good you might think my sliders are unrealistic because you cant drive the ball. but i play with yours and say they are unrealistic because i scored 80. all relevant.Comment

Really good feedback. By chance, have you posted the sliders that you are currently using? I am trying to find a SOLID coach mode slider set, and can't seem to find anything that is realistic.there are three things to consider

Re: Speed threshold; High or low??
I use 15, seems perfect, fast guys will beat you if you call the wrong coverage, and if a RB breaks through you wont be catching him with no LB, unless that LB speed rating is high, that's the way it should be.N.Y Mets
