    Virgin Gaming Legality

How is Virgin Gaming legal? You are gambling. Secondly, why does the NFL allow EA to advertise a gambling website in their game?

not to mention the game is rated "E" for everyone. so does that mean we have underage gamblers?

I actually tried to sign up for this thing just to see what it was but stopped at the point where it asked me for a credit card. I don't think I would wager on Madden games with strangers...that just seems to invite the cheeser's...

        Re: Virgin Gaming Legality

Considering the shutdown of other online wagering activities earlier this year I am quite surprised that they have allowed this. Glitch abuse and cheesing would seem to make this involve a lot more chance than other "gambling" games.

I have been playing on that site since Madden 2009, it was called World Gaming then or something like that. I think it's not considered gambling because allegedly video gaming is considered a game of skill, not chance.

I just started back playing today, hadn't played since May 2010 before that, and they seem to have stopped the head to head wagers. They seem to offer mainly tournament style money games, even with free entries that still award cash.

I actually think this is a little better than the head to head cash games because it allows players to wager less, or nothing, to win a bigger potential pot. Of course the real winners are the site owner(s) but it's still fun.

I just lost $5 in a tournament and as far as cheating or glitching, I know back in 2010, the customer support were good at resolving any issues. I only had one instance where I needed to report a problem and even though it was my fault for not setting the rules properly before the game, I was given half my money back for the loss.

I just realized I probably sound like a company shill but I am really not. lol

No problem. Anybody thinking about trying it out or just have questions, im me and I will help out if I can. I don't think they have a referral program so this is pro bono help I am offering.

On second thought, I better see if they have a referral program. lol

I think they have some kind of deal directly with EA and they have their own lobby in NBA 2k11.

                    What is the rake like?

Can you give us a little more insight on your experiences?

Do you know anyone with a decent ROI?

I've never been an online player, only played a few and decided that I couldn't deal with cheesing as it is not enjoyable, but this may change my mind.

Honestly, no. The cheesing was at a minimum back then and potentially now because of the rep system they have, After you play anyone, you can leave feedback kind of like with Ebay, for everyone to see.

Back in the day, when sending a head to head match request, you could specify in the rules what was "cheese"/ not allowed. Like Rocket catch, nano blitzes, etc. However today when I played in a 2 round $5 tourney with the winner getting $14, I got RCed in the ground, imo, but I still won. Not sure if you can set rules for these preset tournaments or not though.

They also still have head to head games but it looks like they are only for free now.

You must have played online poker before like me. lol
I played back in the day, nothing major though. Won some and lost sum, don't think I ever played for more than $15-$20 a game. I think small wagers add a lil more intensity to the games. I stopped playing in 2010 when my Xbox got the Red ring and just made it back.

It seems like with the new setup having free entry to cash games, it's worth a try. Can't loss what you don't wager. I guess the ROI depends on how good you are at Madden.

I wouldn't suggest wagering money until you test it out and not at all if you have a short temper. lol. I have already been enraged by having "madden moments" costing me a game. lol

Check my highlights(lowlights) from the game in my post #105 here: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...thread-11.html

Generally the rating excludes online play, there's usually a little disclaimer about it.

Still, the NFL doesn't allow in game tattoos, but gambling advertisements are perfectly legal?
