NHL 11 had the option to remove the score. At least give madden that option. Or better yet have it go away once the ball is snapped. It doesn't go away at all during a whole 40 minute game. At least with real football it gets broken up with commercial breaks.

Who is playing Madden 12 on a plasma? You worried about burning in the scoreboard?
I am getting horrible image retention and am starting to get worried about burn in. I have a top or the line panasonic plasma i just got in June, and the picture is the best I've seen, but I'm worried about it's safety and think LCD would have made more sense for how much I game.

5 letters...LCD TV. There is no reason for anyone to own a plasma screen nowadays considering the cheap price and size of modern day LCDs. I know that doesn't help you...just saying. -

I owned plenty of LCD before. The picture doesnt even compare. The black levels on plasmas are way better, motion is way smoother. It is better in every aspect except for it's damn prone to static images for long periods of time.Rams, Jays, Raptors, LeafsComment

its 2011 Plasmas dont burn in images anymore like it did back in the day. It will leave an image screen that wont be noticed when watching tv and will go away quicklyComment

If your tv is as new as you say you should be just fine. Just watch a little full screen tv for a half hour or so after you play for a couple hours. Did you do the 100 hour burn in at a lower brightness/color setting when you first got the tv? Also your tv should have some sort of anti image retention tool that you can run after you play.Prototype Supreme

I agree 100 percent especially with black levels LCDs struggle with this.. I just like being able to live my tv on during a long nap without worrying about screen burn in as I wake up lol. I've seen burn in too many times on plasmas I don't deal with them at all. Would never touch one.Comment

Yea I ran the break in proceedures from avs, colored slides for the first 100 hours and had my tv professionally calibrated. I played 3 games last night then watched tv for 3 hours and today ran the colored slides for another hour and I still see the out lineIf your tv is as new as you say you should be just fine. I am at work now and will be running the slides all night so hopefully it fades away.Rams, Jays, Raptors, LeafsComment

Yea I just put it up for sale online lol. With the extended warranty and how much I paid to have it calibrated I'm gonna lose a lot on it, but I should still get enough to by a 5" bigger Sony LCD and not have to worry how much madden I playI agree 100 percent especially with black levels LCDs struggle with this.. It will fade over time but it's still a major pain. It's likely just stubborn IR. It's very hard to get actual burn in.Rams, Jays, Raptors, LeafsComment

Not a fan, I'd rathe have a regular lCD. They have way too much clouding/light bleed due to being side lit cause people seen to like thin compared to a better picture.Rams, Jays, Raptors, LeafsComment

Re: Who is playing Madden 12 on a plasma? You worried about burning in the scoreboard
i am a proud owner of a 2010 Panasonic Viera THX 3D T.V
and last December i bought madden 11 and after playing the game 1 time it burnt a image into my set. i then called my sales man and he told me the plasma gets image retention and that it would go away mind you when i bought madden my set was less than 2 weeks old. after 2 months the same image was there so they replaced it. after that fiaso it got me to thinking and i have mentioned this before in this forum there is no reason electronic arts could not make there game score overlay fade in and out after hiking the ball and when the play is over.
now some time this yr i am going to buy a samsung 3d led tv i think that one would be best for my gaming experience there brighter and more brilliant with colors than a plasma, black levels are great for dark movies but does not mean to much for madden i would sugest buying a line conditioner
for your equipment that would keep your electrical current steady it wont over or under current your electronics meaning no spikes that can cause image burns as well.Comment
