I thought WR blocking was fixed?

I just played a play now game with GT. Every single time the WR's were supposed to block someone on either the speed or triple option, they just streaked downfield, and didn't block the DB...who as we all know crashes the play to begin with.

On a positive note, the spread option game appears to work pretty damn good...

Seeing same thing, wr just runs past the db hes supposed to block leaving me completely defenseless

wr blocking seemed great on sweeps, run plays, but run a speed option to the side with a wr and you will see what we mean

Have yall tried hot routing the WR to "block"? I used to do that all the time and it felt like it worked on previous versions.

I just subbed in Tackles in the WR spot so there would be no uncertainty as to the WR's ability to block correctly.

Did not help one iota.

Thanks very little EA for leaving options totally un-useable. Why not take slant passes and HB dives out of the game, too?

Or maybe screw up the no huddle?

In the play call screen, does it have him blocking or running up the field? If running up the field, he was doing what he was told.

I was going to say that too, on some of the option plays, the WR is supposed to streak

true, but the CB should be going with him then. The WR streaks, the CB doesn't move 1 inch, then we're still dealing with the same crap of psychic CPU, and instead of crashing in the second the ball is snapped, now he crashes in a split second later.

Either way the CPU's assignments are not being executed properly.

Agreed on this... what I have been doing is lowering CPU run defense... bit by bit.

Also I have noticed that the WR do not block on streak routes (yellow arrows) or long blocking routes (grey Ts) until the ball has been handed off or the QB is past the LOS.

How about counters where the RB can bounce to the outside? Are the DBs crashing in on those plays unblocked as well?

The problem is not just with wide receivers. it can be any lead blocker that isn't a OL. I've noticed my fullback run streaks down the field and not attempt to block anybody. It does not happen every play.

I've seen players not block defenders pre patch, but it was clear they were "attempting" to find somebody to block, usually you could see who they were keying on downfield or at the opposite end of the line (stupidly but thats another issue).

I've never seen what I'm seeing now where literally the blocker is just running straight down field after the snap, and I've played dozens of games, I think this is something new, of course I could be wrong but I have not seen this before.

Well it appears on the option plays that the wr's are supposed to block down field/run down field. Problem is that the db's don't follow the wr's. At at least lb's and d-line don't react to option plays instantaneously like they did pre-patch
