Anyone Else? Madden gone

Well I have truly gave madden a chance this year, as it does do things better this year, and the game is a decent effort, but for me a EA left me underwhelmed , I know there are many guys on OS who love it and are Happy. The honeymoon never really got started with Madden this year for me. I own NCAA and that will be my football fix, I'm just upset that a better effort was not given on EA's part with Madden. I just could not for the life of me get into this years game, just didn't feel right to me.

this is going to be my first year without a NFL title.

Mode please don't lock this, I'm just basing my opinion and just wanna see where other stand.

Over the last few years I have really started knocking back my expectations for Madden.

The only reason I bought this game was for the expanded Franchise Mode. The fact that Hillis is on the cover helped. I have already decided against buying it for next season simply because I know what will be 'featured' - not in detail but in the fact that it will be something improved, not something necessary and NEW (Practice Squads, etc).

I couldn't wait around for NCAA.

I'm happy with my choice keeping Madden. Game play wise, best Madden I've played in a long time.

I felt the same way about Madden 11 and ended up getting rid of it by the first week of October.

Maybe it's because I got rid of 11 so fast and needed an NFL fix, could be I've just lowered my expectations for the game or maybe I just really am really enjoying it this year.

I like it. It's not perfect but I'm not throwing my controller down in disgust either.

I know what you mean OP. I was really hyped for Madden this year and its been a real let down for me... not a total let down but pretty disappointing.

I'm an offline franchise guy so the franchise changes got me really excited. However, with the weather issue and the UDFA issue and so many well known players being called by their # it really takes away from the fun and enjoyment.

I still play it because the gameplay is fun and the positives outweigh the negatives for me.

Next year, however, I will not be as hyped up for M13 no matter what they promise or promote because it will most likely not work correctly or something else will be broken.

I can't say I agree at all with you OP, or even the reviewers at OS. I think this Madden is the best Madden ever and possibly the best football game I've ever played. First time in years I could legitimately say that I love an edition of Madden.

The thing about Madden is expectations. Everyone believes that this year's Madden is going to be THE Madden and it always falls short. The problem is that EA Sports does an excellent job hyping up the game, which raises everyone's expectations 10x. Also, people want their NFL fix.

When I bought Madden this year, I expected it to be a better Madden 10 and I was happy with what we have. Being a franchise player, things like UDFA's and Pryor getting cut do bother me a little, but nothing I can't get over.

In the end, it's just a game.

I agree 100% FF. Since 2003 I've purchased madden with my own money and played it day 1. This year I brought madden on launch day but waited 5 days to play it because the flame wasn't there. When I finally did play it I was very underwhelmed by the gameplay. I know people say this is the best madden to date but I have the mindset that we should be further in gameplay than we are now. Why are animations still robotic and not smooth, why are majority of tackles unrealistic and arcade-like, why is there no true DB-WR interaction which would make Pass Interference relevant again, why do DE's/DT's have to make contact with the o-line to make a special move,etc....

We should be past all of these concerns! I'm not looking forward to the transition from PS3/XBOX 360 to PS4/XBOX 720 just because of the debacle XBOX to XBOX 360 transition was. I guess at this point im tired of the same ole same ole by tiburon. When you play Madden 12 nothing seems fresh. Everything is recycled imo. This team is STALE!

nope, still got madden and is getting heavy rotation. its not perfect, but it was better tuned than ncaa out the box (passing gm and defense reactions). only thing i dont like is the horrible field graphics on certain stadiums/conditions (on ps3) and the franchise menu interface sucks!!! other than that, its cool for me.

but on the flipside this will be the last next gen madden i buy until they put in physics and tighten up the shortcuts these ea football gms have in abundance. this one will hold me over til then. i almost didnt buy as i wasnt impressed and was bitter over no online franch improvements in 3 editions, but i wanted to play my bro and i got the game for $33 total after tax. i cant hardly complain and is $33 well spent....now if it was $60...i woulda stuck with my stance to pass as ive done half of the next gen madden releases ('07,'09,'11).

i hate to say it, but if there was a game to be traded, it would honestly be ncaa this yr. and this is coming from a guy whos enjoyed ncaa immensely since '09. just too many bugs of all kinds(sum crucial to gameplay) still after 2 patches and all this after a 2month wait.

CC is freaking awesome for NCAA but trying to make a Jerome bettis on NCAA is impossible make a rb at 250 and the rb has thinner arms than the qb

Next year's Madden is going to be a lot different. It's going to be the first one developed under the new team and I would expect a ton of improvements especially in terms of sim football. With that being said I'm really enjoying 12, but I have huge expectations for 13, my expectations for 12 were for it to be better than 11 and it's WAY better so I'm happy. I look at 12 as a step in the right direction, while I'm expecting 13 to be a milestone in sports gaming history.

See, that's my thing, I think NCAA is much better then Madden this year, call it crazy or whatever you wanna call it, but its just my opinion, II think NCAA's gameplay is better all around. I also prefer the player models in NCAA more so then Madden.


I just felt there wasn't enough in this years Madden to get me excited or keep playing, I couldn't even finish a full game without saying to myself, I really don't enjoy playing this game.

I agree. I was all set to enjoy NCAA this year, and forget about Madden, but the patching process killed it for me. I need some kind of football, so I picked Madden up with the credit.

Quit playing NCAA when the roster/tendency bug and coach progression was discovered. Downloaded the patch but haven't played it.

Madden has my full attention and it's by far the best Madden on next-gen.

Wll, I will surely not drop an Madden or NCAA - too much love for the game of football. As living somewhere where you can hardly see more as 2,3 Games a week - its my fix

Though, the franchise mode is a single embarrasment for EA with all its bugs and flaws. So thankfully, as I dont play OD or No-Huddle I'm mainly not stroken by two of the heaviest bugs of NCAA and its still kinda fun. Though I feel with all the guys which are stroken by them.

I only dont see myself to deep into any Madden franchise as long as the major bugs are not fixed. I dont feel like controlling all 32 teams just to get a somehow decent experience.
