    Odd Quirks in NHL '12

I wasn't sure where to include these because I'm not sure if they are bugs or not, but they are fixes that should probably be made via a patch--that is if EA plans to implement one.

I've only played a couple games thus far, so I will likely have to add to the list. I'm also curious if anyone else has run into these issues.

    1. Settings reset when reloading Be A Pro.
    - The main settings that I saved seem to load outside of any game modes, but when I set them within Be A Pro mode, they reset every time I reload the game. This is an extremely annoying bug/glitch/whatever you want to call it. This may happen in other modes (i.e. GM) but I haven't checked yet.

    2. Goal does not count when scored in the side of the net.
    - This is probably more along the lines of a bug, but when I score into the side of the net, it doesn't end up counting. I actually had this happen in the demo, as well, and thought it was just a "demo goof," but it just happened in my last game and I was not too pleased. The puck went through the goalie's armpit and hit into the side of the net just behind the post, but nothing happened. Oddly enough, the skaters on the ice seemed confused, as well.

    3. Tasks given in BAP mode are not specific.
    - This is sort of an annoyance more than anything, but when I get side tasks during a game, they don't really tell me what to do. They are a too vague and I think it would be better implemented if those tasks were specific about what the coach wanted. "Let's keep up the pressure and force turnovers" is not really unambiguous. I had a few turnovers but the ticker remained at zero the whole game, so I'm not sure what I was supposed to do. Another odd one was "Let's give it our all on the powerplay." Okay, and do what exactly? Shoot? Pressure?

Did you use the EA Bug Thread for posting your Freezing Problems? if not, please do.

For number 1, did you try and save your settings before quitting. If you created your settings, played some games, than quit without saving the settings, that may be why it keeps going to default.

Here's the weird thing I've noticed (360) - I've played through the first 7 games of the CHL season with Tri-Cities (in BAP). In those 7 games, there have been 39 goals scored. Of those 39 goals scored, 36 of them occurred while I was on the ice.

There have only been 3 goals scored while simming between shifts.

Has anyone else noticed this playing BAP? That a vast majority of the goals scored are scored when you're on the ice and VERY FEW are scored while simming between shifts?

What level are you playing on? On Superstar I've had nearly the exact opposite experience, I've only been on the ice for a few goals per week.

Yup,....it works fine for me,although IIRC,there may be one or two options that aren`t being saved.

I haven`t played the game since yesterday afternoon, and I can`t remember right now which ones they were....I`ve been spending countless hours at the rink lately.
Thank God I get a day off from real world hockey today.
My hockey season started the 3rd week in July,.....and it feels like I`ve been at the rink everyday since then,....almost starting to burn out a little, and the pre-season has just barely begun.....

Did I ever mention how much I hate training camps and tryouts? The WORST part of hockey season.....and this year has been the MF`er of them all.

I'm playing on Superstar as well. I set the game style to Hardcore to keep it slower and more like real hockey. After the 4th game I started messing with sliders to see if anything would change.

Did you start off playing in the CHL? (I mean for a season, not just the pre-draft/Memorial Cup) I started mine as a 17 year old so I could play the entire season before I get drafted.

I've talked to a few people about it and I seem to be the only one having the issue. Very weird!

I actually played two years with the Petes in the OHL, and yeah asking around other places I've found varied results, what team did you play on in the CHL?

OP, your second issue (the "poop" spot inside the net, as I've taken to calling it) has been in the game since at least 09, but likely even before that. There seems to be a spot inside the post where, if the puck comes in at the right angle, it can hit a spot of net completely inside the post and then bounce out, without ever fully crossing the goal line. This is some kind of issue with the net it seems. You'd think EA would have fixed this by now...

Yeah I just had that happened to me last game. I scored right near the inside post and it was clearly over the line but it did not count because it bounced out after going over the line

Regarding #1, I've had the same issues. I save all of the time and my sound settings are never right when I load up my BAP. I turn the announcers to zero, so it's especially annoying. The only Visuals I alter are setting the puck and puck shadow to authentic.. and those always need to be reset when I load up as well.

Regarding #3, I'm with you on the tasks. When the coach says "go out there and get the crowd behind us in the first 10 minutes" and I take my power forward out and make a few big hits, that should count toward completing the task. Sadly, it doesn't. Or when it says "we're behind in shots, go out there and put some on the net to catch us up" and we end up ahead in shots, with me having like 7-10 for the game I fail. Those are just two of the issues with them off the top of my head.

In Be A Pro I have to change my shooting settings to "camera relative" every time I play. This existed in NHL 11 too but not in Be A GM.

Drives me nuts that I cant save auto shot aim either, but I think that issue has been around since 08.

In NHL 11 my visual settings would sometimes reset themselves. I never noticed a pattern to it, and it wasn't every time I played. Hasn't happened to me yet in NHL 12.
