    Well, it finally happened...

Broke my controller from playing this game.

Basically, I tried again to play with a different slider set...toledo vs a created villanova team. All the same issues still are there....I literally got through 4 minutes of the quarter, and the only route that I could get any recievers open on was a slant...***nning the ball was fine, but on defense, toledo had a scrambling QB and ran the hurry up...well, that caused the major problems.

Basically, I wanted to spy him, but because of broken custom playbook, I had no plays with spy out of certain formations, and he would just take off....I was forced to pull a linemen off the line to spy him. Then, even when I did have a spy, my LB would just let the QB run past him.

Well, that was it...I went ahead and called EA customer service, and asked for a refund on the game...basically, I'm going to use that refund to buy a new controller. They were surprisingly helpful actually...and are sending me out a sealed copy of the game.

Still though, it stinks, because I really wanted to enjoy the game, and just can't....

Yeah...I feel like an idiot...at least the 360 controllers hold up fairly well to it, unlike those PS2 controllers that would just shatter.

If you break controllers over a video game and you're not a teenager, video gaming isn't for you.

Honestly, no one asked your opinion.

To the OP, please dont break your mouse or keyboard now that you will probably think that this forum is unenjoyable and not playable.

This game is what you make of it. Yes there are some flaws that have been covered extensively through other threads. The fact you cant enjoy this game because you cant pass or stop a scrambling QB however is in my opinion a "you" problem and not the game. This is not to say there isnt flaws in the AI but to ditch this game for the reasons you mentioned to me at least suggests that this game probably isnt right for you from the start. Just my .02

Well, I know that I am not the only one having the scrambling QB problem, because multiple other people have observed a QB run right past a LB without him reacting.

As far as passing, some people seem to like the 45% completion range...I don't. That's just me...I want to complete 50-60% of my passes, like a real college football game, and I feel like certain routes should not be negated by pyschic DB's.

                  Typical hoopie logic....

I do see what you did there. Well played. The 'code' was definitely worse in '10, though. I think it's the games way of forcing you to use mound visits and make pitching changes. That tended to stop the bleeding.

Also, I found more success when I went completely opposite of the catcher's recommendation. Fastball up and in? Nope - try low and away change up.

As for slamming controllers - those days are behind me, but man, those NES controllers were indestructible!

Again, this is a you or them problem. I for one have significantly higher pass percentage completion than the 45% you mentioned. I would suggest work on your passing game. I am able to stop scrambling QB's. I would suggest work on your defense. This is not to say I dont get burned from time to time but that happens.

All of the things you mention have indeed been covered in other threads and this game is what it is. There are a great number of people including myself who enjoy this game. There are a great number of people who are able to pass and stop scrambling QB's. Are all of those people that different from you? Probably not with maybe one exception. When they have 45% pass percentage instead of breaking their controller and claiming the game is broken they probably put some effort in to getting better.

NBA 2k11 made me break mines when the CPU post game was unstoppable by virtually every big man lol. it was old anyways haha. I then had an Epiphany...RAGE QUIT!!! vs breaking controller.

on a serious note: do not get grey hairs because Toledo, as a Michigan fan I find App St way more deserving of such frustration lol.

Supersim defense, it's what I do. Supersimming is the most effective way to stop the CPU offense post-patch.

I've always had a theory - and perhaps it's an actual clinical response that I'm not aware of - that when one person is overreacting in a situation (meaning, expressing extreme anger/frustration/jubilation... anything to the extreme) - another directly involved person will naturally react the complete opposite.

So if I'm getting frustrated putting in a screen door, my wife will remain uncharacteristically calm.

Applied here, one person vents about throwing a controller (which any gamer worth his/her salt has done at least once!), someone else chimes in about how calm and collected they always remain.
