    Would you enjoy this game more IF...

    ...you wouldn't come to sites like O.S. (and others)?

    Now, to clarify (and this is NOT meant as disrespect): I recently traded this game in because I found I could not enjoy it. I follow the slider threads here, even created my own set... But it seems like I spend a TON of time here trying to follow every thread, keep up with every slider change made by key slider creators I respect, and follow all the roster stuff - yet never finding the "perfect" rosters, sliders, etc.

    I guess I'm asking that if there was no such sites like these, and all the comparisons of information to be found (which can take a lot of time to follow and read), would you just enjoy the game more and stop worrying about all the other information that can just boggle you down?

    I enjoy the game despite all the reportings within this forum. At its core it is still fun to me, and I actually had an adrenaline rush in my hm playoff matchup against New Orleans....I was that excited.

    The slander of this game, right, wrong, or indifferent doesn't affect my willingness to want to play console football. As long as there are a few workarounds here and there, a challenge to be had, and a fun gaming experience....I am there.

      No...OS has only enhanced my gaming experience. I can not think of one instance otherwise...

      The Audio Pop bug;

      The black blotches on the field;

      The stale presentation (commentary still recycled from Madden 09, no halftime show, etc.);

      Replays covered with the playcall screen;

      A highlight system that won't allow you to record an entire play when you run for 99 yards;

      No NFL Films Music;

      Stale Special Teams (bad coverage, blocking and kicking meter);

      Suction blocking (it's still bad if you pay close attention);

      No profile records (this was in Madden 09 - what happened?);

      Poor challenge system doesn't allow you to pick what you want to challenge;

      I could go on and on but as you can see OS is not to be blamed for this poor product.

        Other people's opinions should not affect yours.

        Sure other people may point out a bug, but if it didn't affect you before you noticed it.. Should that even matter?

          Couldn't have said it better myself. I would enjoy Madden/NCAA more if EA took the time to test their product and fix things before release.

            Like the pre-Internet days? Probably, cause I did before. There was no Net, no YouTube, etc to show me how "bad" games are. I just played them til the wee hours of the morning, and recall having a blast.

                Re: Would you enjoy this game more IF...

                Actually, no.

                As beeing a strict offline gamer, all the bugs and annyoancies of the franchise mode cannot be overseen. Braindead UDFA and CPU AI trading/draft logic, bad rosters (Vernon Davis contract!!!!), commentaries which are dead wrong very often and if not, you are bored to death in your 2nd game at latest and so on and so on... Rain games anyone?

                This is even more annoying because I think even with super-human MLB and psychic DBs, the game is surely one of the best Madden I played for years - at least at the level I play, which is All-Pro with moderately tuned sliders.

                Its unbelievable that we have the same stuff ppl were complaining about at least for the last 5 years... Add this to the bugs wich EA is able to put in every new year, extremly pure Betatesting (is there ANY actually, Rain games anyone???) makes me mad some times - even more when considering that the game which you guys paid $60.- over there is > $90.- here in Europe

                I skipped Madden last year, solely staying with NCAA that time. This year, the trailers and even the demo really made me feel that maybe THIS year might be the one which would give us the franchise back which we were used to on last gen. **** fail, EA ...

                So I'm strongly considering skipping Madden next year again.

                At least I'm one of the lucky guys not heavily stroken by the two major NCAA bugs (OD and No-huddle) because I only play offline and hardly use no-huddle. So, with decent sliders there as well or even playing pure coach mode, theres some fun as well. Suprisingly the QBs there are actually scrambling in coach mode

                Though I feel the pain of anyone not beeing happy with NCAA -or back to topic - Madden.

                Maybe one day, EA will deliver us a football product not full of bugs and actually worth its money - at the moment its not really worth the price...

                    Quite the opposite, it was BECAUSE of OS I was aware of the issues before I cracked the box and had guidelines on how to setup a 32 team franchise properly to mitigate those issues.

                        I understand what you're saying, but no... I disliked Madden long before I ever knew of Operation Sports.

                        If anything, Operation Sports has helped me find some redemption from a football franchise that I otherwise hate.

                          The information here doesn't boggle me down. If anything it makes the games better, and it's usually pretty easy to find useful items. There's a lot of sports games nerds here like myself. And the site is pretty well moderated so you don't have to sort through a bunch of BS.

                          What sucks is having to go through the process at all. Coming up with sliders, workarounds for bugs, waiting for patches, adjusting sliders once the patch comes out, finding workarounds for new bugs created by the patch, it just gets pretty tiresome.

                          Fortunately I'm enjoying simple "play now" games in Madden 12 with little to no adjustments. Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy Franchise Mode after a patch comes out.

                            OS helps me to enjoy the game more, despite having to sift thru repetitive complaining at times.

                            It helps me to identify what bugs are out there that might lessen my enjoyment of franchise mode, so I can hold off until a patch in order to have a better experience.

                            The slider sets work wonders for vsCPU gameplay

                            And they help to identify exploits so I can know what to call people out for in online leagues or ranked against my buddies when it comes to possible cheesing

                              The quality of the game is what my opinion is based on and is a direct result on whether I enjoy a game or how much I enjoy it. OS only helps me decide whether to spend the money to purchase it.

                              So far I have been disappointed in many areas of Madden 12, and at the same time, pleasantly surprised. I'm liking the game play on All Pro, but also disappointed in all the problems with the new franchise features.

                              Overall, for me, so far, the game is a keeper.
