Can't Simulate Week in Franchise Mode

Just played my Week 5 game in my Bills franchise...

Then I went to "Simulate This Week".... It says Please Wait...Simulating. It only does this for about 2 seconds, then it jumps back to the schedule screen without anything simulated. So then I went to the next week and Chose "Simulate to this Game". The exact same thing happened, said please wait...simulating then did absolutely nothing.

I searched the first couple pages and found nothing, and I don't have time to sift through 288 posts in the Bugs/Glitches Thread...

Anyone else seen this? Any info is greatly appreciated.

My "simulate week" works fine. When I "simulate this game" however from the main menu (where it shows both team logos) it actually simulates like a bunch of games instead of just the one. Then I went to league schedule via the menu and tried to do it from that screen and it worked correctly. I know this isn't exactly the same problem as you, but maybe doing it on that screen can help you out. BTW I'm on PS3.

Do both teams have the roster requirements filled? If a team doesn't have enough able bodies at one position, they'll need to sign a guy in order to have the game played.

I am having the exact same problem you are... no idea how to fix it i tired a new franchise i thought maybe that one got messed up some how but the same thing happened.... wtf ea sports wtf....

On PS3, had the same problem in my 49ers franchise as well.

The problem I had was I press 'Simulate to this game' option, then press 'Simulate this game'. After the game is simulated, the screen just turn into an infinite loop, no matter if I choose "Simulate this week" or "Simulate the regular season".

Also had the game freeze on me twice in a game, so sick and tired of all the bug in this year's game.

I never had this problem before, But maybe you can try to go to the `league schedule` screen and simulate the game one by one until the end of this week.
maybe after that it will be fine.

Unfortunately, I have tried every way possible to simulate ahead, and it just won't work. What a bummer... I was really enjoying the few games I played. Discovered a couple unknowns I invited to Training Camp that turned into studs...

I don't believe it's my roster being too small, cause I had the max number for the game and haven't cut anyone...

Same thing happening to me. Tried everything and can't find a solution. I had to pull the plug on a 2 year franchise because a random week wouldn't complete. I tried everything from trading players to simming, to playing to changing settings to give the CPU complete control and nothing works.

I went into the franchise with updated rosters and wasn't using custom draft classes or anything.

That leaves me with playing online games against strangers as the only use for this game. What use is it to have a re-vamped franchise mode and have a crippling bug ruin the experience?

The exact same thing has happened to me in week 4 of my 49ers franchise. After only buying the game 3 days ago, this is unacceptable on EA's part.

Does this now mean there's no chance of playing franchise mode, or can I start a new one and hope this doesn;t happen again. It kind of nullify's overhauling Franchise mode, if the mode itself is cluttered with glitches and bugs making it unplayable.

As someone who only plays franchise mode, this is a complete dealbreaker.

This happened to me too and I haven't touched the game since. It was the Saint vs Panthers both teams had all there requirements filled but the Panthers had a crap load of player on IR so idk. Needless to say the gameplay has improved this yr but there has been a serious lack of polish with EAs football games off the field this year and there timely acknowledgment of the bugs and fixing said issue has been inexcusable.

Happened to me several time with different franchises in week 17 with that Panthers and Saints game. I'm on my PS3 BTW.

My friend has also had it happen to him in week 5 on Xbox. There is nothing you can do but quit your franchise.

Has anyone tried to edit their players to fulfill position requirements? If they have Three QBs, and need one more MLB, try editing one of their QBs to be a MLB just for that game?

This problem sounds familiar. And it was always some team having too many injuries at one position and not having enough active at that position. At least now we can edit rosters like you suggested and move a player to that position. The hard part is trying to determine what team is having the roster requirement problem. At least this is what I've experienced in the past.

To solve this problem, go to the league schedule and simulate each game on the schedule. One of the games will simply not simulate and return with no score each time.

I dealt with this last night, and it's a pain, but it can be fixed.
