Obviously this is a NHL forum, but I am deciding whether to buy FIFA 12 or NHL 12. I have heard the last couple of years that both the games are amazing, and I have never owned a hockey or soccer game on my PS3 so I am looking to buy one now. I would consider myself more of a hockey fan than of a soccer fan. Thoughts?

Soccer's boring, to play and to watch. Just my opinion, of course......
Hockey's fast-paced style, hard-hitting, etc. is what hooked me and got me to play.

I had the same issue FIFA v NHL. FIFA looked amazing, but I wasn't a huge fan of the demo. I knew I enjoyed the NHL franchise, so I went that route after playing the demo, figuring that FIFA could be had for around half price by Thanksgiving or Christmas if I so wanted.
Plus, personally, I can work in more NHL around MW3 when that comes out in November. I get more life out of the NHL franchise than I do FIFA.Comment

NHL and FIFA are the main two games I play during the year, I think going NHL is a real solid choice. Personally I play NHL mostly offline and FIFA mostly online.Comment

Hockey is my favorite sport so I always get NHL. I usually pick up Fifa later in the year. Usually it will go on sale around the holidays. I never have time for both games so close together.Go Sabres!Comment

If you want to score 1 or 2 goals a game and be bored out of your mind, go with FIFA. If you want excitement and a fast paced game, go with NHL. To me, the choice is simple, NHL all the way. Even though FIFA looks beautiful, soccer will never be an exciting game to me. Soccer frustrates me more than the worst football, basketball or hockey game out there. I can't play it in real life or on a video game console. Too boring.Comment
