Dallas Clark is faster than Reggie Wayne?

Anyone think it's weird that Dallas Clark has a higher speed rating then Reggie Wayne? Just noticed this and thought it was funny. Does EA and Donny Moore really think Reggie would lose in a foot race on the field to Dallas?

Lol.

They do it to boost ratings.

That's why everything is so off.

Look at like the jerry rice cards on ultimate team.

96 speed i believe it says.

The guy ran a 4.7 coming into the nfl. His speed was his big knock.

Terrelle Pryor runs a 4.34 i believe? and his speed rating is only a 90

Ratings are all messed up just to get boosted overalls.

Their arguement would be that it is position based, not overall speed, for a TE Dallas Clark is one of the fastest at HIS position.

I agree, and how is Vernon Davis only a 90 in speed? dude ran a 4.38 at the combine... his speed should be around 94-95...

That's a terrible arguement on their count. Speed should be comparable universally which "in-game" it is. Reggie Wayne is by no means a burner but there are far too many receivers slower than TE's, something is wrong and has been wrong.

What are the acceleration ratings? They should be far more relevant to 40 times.

EA loves, and is afraid of speed in their game.

One of the things that is very hard to recreate is game speed. As someone else said, Jerry rice wasn't known as a burner, but he had had quick feet and a break away burst. He was never caught from behind, and as he said, he "ran scared."

40 time is not the end-all/be-all of speed. Acceleration plays a part as well. I believe they talked about this on NBC with Usain Bolt and how he does not have a great 40 time because he build up to his top speed a little slower, but his overall top speed is very high. So, for example, and I'm just making up these numbers, he might have 105 speed in Madden, but only 92 acceleration.

When I say that EA is afraid of speed, I am referring to how in the past they have said they don't really like it when people can take a very fast player who hasn't proved himself on the playing field and dominate with him in Madden. A lot of this has to do with awareness though. With user control, the player on the field is only as good as the user, and in the hands of a talented user with a "god cam" to see the action from, that player can play at an All-Pro/Hall of fame level. For example, ever since Madden 07 I have been tearing people apart with Vernon Davis. Though to be fair, Davis isn't used very much by the 49ers. Alex Smith tends to forget he is on the field. [until last week]

Does it seem to anyone else that the madden devs like to try to "fix" fakeness with more fakeness. An example would be that to make up for the bad defense in years past they decide to give the defenders ridiculous advantages this year. Just something I always thought madden had a problem with.
