    A Bears Dynasty

Ok, I'll be starting a Bears dynasty.

    Coach Michael Smith

    Personality-Commander

    Skills-Performance 5, Playcall 4, Strategy 3.

Playbooks-custom Michigan spread, custom Jim Johnson.

I'll be looking to play all the games, although I may occasionally supersim the preseason games. It'll be a struggle to make it through the 1st season with a overall 4 trainer.

Sliders-Ebongreen's most recent set, although I have have PBK and PA at 45. I've also got punting sliders at 99.

Thanks. It will be my 3rd time with the team, so it's a team I know well.

                    Final Preseason Moves

                    Trades:

Traded C Olin Kreutz to the Panthers for 2009 2nd. i signed C Vincent Ellis 76/82 and made him the starter. He has a higher learning grade than Justice, so he got the job.

Traded DT Tommy Harris to the Lions for their 2009 1st round pick. I signed DT Rashad Moore 77/78; he will be 3rd on the depth chart. Moore and Rubin will b ethe starters.

CB Ricky Manning suffered an injury and I placed him on IR-help with my cap space.

It leaves me with 3 1st round picks and 3 2nd round picks for next year's draft, a good position to have.

                    Season Goals:

                    Win 3/4 games
                    Beat Packers in Week 11
                    Beat Packers in Week 16
                    Re-sign ROLB Lance Briggs
                    Re-sign HB Steven Jackson
                    Hire a new GM
                    Hire a College Coach
                    Have 75+ approval

I face a tough initial couple of games, so I most likely will fail the 1st goal(already lost to the Colts). The Packers games are winnable. The Jones path is weak at OLB, so signing Briggs will be pursued. Jackson will be allowed to enter FA, and I will consider drafting Ozzie.I'd like a new GM if I can find one. I'll also try to hire a college coach. Approval is currently at 40, so I might have trouble with the last goal.

                      Game 1-Colts 34, Bears 9

My defense did manage to limit Manning to 1 TD. It didn't matter though, as the Colts returned 3 INTs for TDs. Marlin Jackson returned 2, and Kelvin Hayden 1. Hale got a bruised hip in the game and will miss 1-3 weeks.I benched Woodson at the end of the 1st Half, and my approval dropped down to 40.

                        Game 2- Bears 27, Panthers 20

Woodson had a solid game, but got hit by the turnover bug in the 2nd half. I then turned to Steven Jackson who ended with 169 yds rushing in a 27-20 victory.

                          Game 3- Bears 34, Bucs 20

I was really surprised how well I did against the Bucs. They're a team who usually totally shuts me down, but I got off to a 24-3 lead and never looked back. The Bucs did manage a strong 4th quarter comeback, but I held on for a 34-20 victory.Unfortunately, I did lose Stephen Jackson for about a month due to a sprained MCL.

I really had a lot of trouble with the passing game in this game, so I turned to the run. Surprisingly, I had a great deal of success running against the Eagles. Inside runs and a QB Draw were particularly effective. I edged out the Eagles 21-12.

                              Game 5- Bears 44, Lions 21

This game really wasn't much of a challenge after I got to a 38-7 lead at the end of the 1st Half, although Detroit made it respectable in the 2nd. My passing game worked really well, and I developed a pass rush for once. Campbell had 5 sacks and Steltz 2. I don't expect to have much of a running game until I get Jackson back though.
