Don't get me wrong I love the offline aspects of this game. It is the most realistic basketball game ever released. The NBA greatest mode is awesome. However, as great a simulatioin as 2k has made, they can't be crowned sports games king until they do something relevant with online. They could start by actually gettting to work properly. This is why I love fifa 12, the online keeps me coming back because you can make AI seem as realistic as possible, but nothing beats playing against another human player who can make mistakes, but quickly learn from those mistakes, forcing you to try different plays and tactics. I was reading the 1up review of this game and I have to agree, it is the best offline sports game ever made. The problem is that in 2011, a functional online mode shouldn't be an afterthought, it should be the core of of the 2k package along with nba greatest, association and my player.

I hear what you're saying. But with one aspect of the game being "broken", as some put it, think of it this way:
Would you:
a.) Rather the gameplay be messed up to the point where Jesus himself shows up during gameplay in an attempt to save the game?
or
b.) Have intermittent online issues with a solid core game?
Answer b shows why 2K is still king; at least in my eyes. -

I'd disagree. I know the OP may be frustrated by the game's online performance, but it's obvious online isn't an afterthought. And whatever it is, it doesn't take away from what the game is as a whole. The "my favorite mode is the most important" view shouldn't take away from what 2K was able to accomplish with 2K12HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I don't think when posters come up with excuses that it helps video games improve. If we never had constructive criticism this game wouldnt be close to as good as it is now. I love 2k but i'm not going to sit here and say well it may be bad but its not that bad. Online is a huge problem. And needs to be fixed.Comment

I just don't understand why they would remove online modes...
Not being able to play single season online leagues is killer, those were by far my best experiences in 2k11. Online Association just doesn't interest me at all.Comment

I don't think anyone's saying online shouldn't be fixed. But what the rest of the game is shouldn't be ignored, either. And it seems some disregard what the game is as a whole simply to make a point that they're unhappy [their favorite mode] isn't what they want it to be.HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

As i recall, Christ attempted exactly that. It was a little over a year ago, in a certain innovative new game from the geniuses at EA Sports..
Sadly, this particular miracle could not be performed. Apparently there are some things even Jesus can't do.Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.
