Home Team Line Change
In NHL '11, if you were the home team you could see what line the opponent was putting out so you could match their line with the D-pairing of your choice. This feature doesn't appear to be in NHL '12....has anyone noticed this? Or am I missing something.Tags: None -

Re: Home Team Line Change
To me, this is actually a really big issue. It ruins home ice advantage, as I can't get the match-ups I want on defense. I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up more on these boards yet.Comment

Re: Home Team Line Change
Yeah, I'm really hoping this will be fixed in the first patch. It's really the only disappointment I have with this game.
I worry about no one mentioning this, as well. I have no idea if it is on the devs radar. And it makes me wonder how people play this game and worry about sim results if they are not even trying to match lines.Last edited by Ceteris Paribus; 10-23-2011, 01:08 AM.Comment

I guess we'll have to keep posting in this thread to keep it alive until someone important notices. LolComment

Re: Home Team Line Change
I noticed that sometimes I can see my opponent's next line when a cutscene comes up, however, most of the time the prompt shows up when we are in the faceoff circle.
You guys are right, it definitely hurts home ice advantage and matching lines, which in turn, hurts realism.Comment

Re: Home Team Line Change
Honestly, the lack of home ice advantage for line changes is the only thing I am actually disappointed with in this game. I cannot understand how people can play this offline and not be frustrated by this issue.
It's even worse than just not having a choice, because the game assumes you do. When you play a a visiting team, it works perfectly, with the CPU matching their checking line on your scoring lines. But it is when you are at home that you continually find your checking line matching up with their checking line. It's not even real hockey at that point.Comment
