Is this possible in the game? I am intrigued by the Managers aspect of signing players, figuring out formations and subbing, but not actually playing. I suck, plus I know nothing about the players (dumb American). Please advise...

you can simulate the games but can't watch them, as far as i know. so you could manage the team and choose starting line ups, but can't choose what substitutions to make neither manage tactics during the game, unfortunately. it's not very funny "playing" like this, imo. if you want this kind of experience, i recommend playing football manager instead of fifa. it has way more depth on the pure management side.Last edited by Gonira; 10-11-2011, 01:17 AM. -

Agreed. Football manager would be a better choice if you just want to manage.
And you could probably pick up last years edition of that for a smaller price.Comment

I understand this is not most people's idea of fun. I never understand why EA leaves out the ability to do this though. What could it possibly hurt? You can watch an exhibition match cpu vs. cpu. Why not allow someone to do the same in manager mode? Makes no sense whatsoever. They obviously do not want you to have the ability to do it. They've had it programmed in there to prevent it. Silly.Comment

it pretty simple, EA leaves it out so that people like yourself who are only interested in managing can buy their Football Manager game. its just like people who always ask why they dont include all the national teams in Fifa, it is because they want you to go out and purchase the world cup game or the euro game etc. etc.Look at all the best soccer players.
