Week 6: Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2)

I just made a bet with a coworker on which will be higher: the number of Jacksonville punts, or the number of points the Steelers defense will score. I went with the punts.

    Jaguars: 7
    Steelers: 24

With 9 punts and one defensive TD for the Steelers.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume a Steelers domination. The last time people predicted that was against the Colts, and that ended up being way too close. The Steelers tend to have let downs in games like this, a game they should obviously win, coming off a big win. That being said, with the way the season has gone and the way the guys on this team are I don't think that's going to happen. Steelers win, but its closer than Giggas thinks.

    Steelers - 27
    Jaguars - 17
    NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
    NBA: Dallas Mavericks
    MLB: Texas Rangers
    NHL: Dallas Stars
    NCAA: Alabama Crimson Tide

I understand where you're coming from, but I have been subjected to this Jaguars team all year. We can't score on a bad defense. We're ****ed, is what I'm telling you.

Jaguars have had some problems with the offense but Gabbert played pretty good in the wind. It's a great sign that your QB can still throw 45 yards down-field in the swirling wind. Dalton couldn't do the same.

The team needs to play to it's strengths and hope they don't have another run of misfortune late in the game as seen in the Panthers and Bengals loss. Both games they really could have won, the Panthers game especially.

The outcome depends on which Steeler team shows up. If they play the way they did last week then this game won't be close. However, if they play the way they did against Houston and Indy then all bets are off. I haven't heard anything about which of our 300 injured players will be able to return to action this week though.

Both teams are pretty beat up, but most of the jags/steelers games are pretty close. Jags win this and then beat baltimore next week. All hail Blaine Gabbert!

Out: T Marcus Gilbert, NT Casey Hampton, OLB James Harrison, G Chris Kemoeatu, RB Mewelde Moore, DE Aaron Smith, OLB Jason Worilds

Probable: CB Cortez Allen, FS Ryan Clark

So the defense will look the same as last week. The offensive line will be the same as it was when Gilbert went down and Jonathan Scott took his place. Might see a little more of Mendenhall in this game, I'm hoping for a lot of Redman and Dwyer again though, I like Mendy, but not with this patchwork offensive line, his game isn't made for them.

Jags are aweful, easy win for the steelers who seam to be back on track(we will see). Like to see Maurice Jones Drew break out with a big game.

I'm calling a Jacksonville win. Pittsburgh's run D isn't as good as it's been in the past, and despite a good win over the Titans I still don't think Pitt is as good as they once were. I think Jones Drew has a big game, and Gabbert tosses a pair of TD's to win a close one.

Could be wrong, but Gabbert is one of my favorite college players ever so I'll be picking Jacksonville upsets all year long lol.

This is a pretty good toss up. With Harrison out, I would imagine Del Rio will give MJD 20-30 carries up the middle and another 100 yd game. Blaine Gabbert will probably only pick up one touchdown but I think a field goal will decide the game. The game will be decided on both team's running games.

Steelers looking good early on both sides of the ball.

But already we've got another injured OLineman :

Steelers looking pretty good again. Maybe another nice performance will stop this nonsense about how they're too old/slow?

On a side note, this D actually looks better with Hampton/Harrison out. Might just be coincidence or opponent...I don't know. Hoke has played a very good NT replacing Hampton. Of course as I type this, Hoke goes off the field with an injury.

I benched Mendenhall on my fantasy team this week so expect him to continue to rumble and get another TD.

Thank God Ben Worthelessberger, combined with the Jags new defense, is keeping the Jags in this game despite having one of the worst offenses ever.

Yep...the offense has really stalled this 2nd half. Now Troy is injured (head? possible concussion?) and Sepulveda shanked a punt giving JAX very good field position.
