    Steve Smith needs some Help!

I am looking to start a new Panther franchise this weekend once I get a new xbox (old one suffered the ring of death after a fall) I am content to address the defensive weaknesses in the off season and draft but the offense I want to get right in year one.

What would be a way to get Steve Smith another WR to take some of the pressure off of him. When I play most teams, Smith always gets covered close. The tight ends are great, but I would love to get another WR, possibly a deep threat to move Smitty to the slot.

I would trade either Williams or J.Stewart if I could address this issue. Also, would it be realistic to sign either T.O.(as if I would really want to in real life lol, but his ratings are good tho) or TJ Houz...? Both of these guys could help a lot.

    Any input is greatly appreciated!

Not sure if this works and its kinda unrealistic but you can try Williams a first and a second/third to the cowboys for Dez Bryant. they could use RB help and he is not their best WR(rating wise).

If you think you can pick up a wr in the offseason, I'd sign TO for a year.

Otherwise, I think i'd try and trade one of your running backs to get Demarius thomas from the broncos

      96 speed 6'3 229 after 1 season he is around 80 overall.

Awesome, thanks for the feed back guys! Keep it coming

I love using Dez. I am not a big fan of miles austin, so when I use Dallas I always throw to either Dez or Witten( and my boy Tashard Choice lol)

I have not used Thomas yet, even tho he sounds like a beast. I am assuming he is a rookie or atleast young? That makes both of these guys great pickups. I would let DeAngelo go for these guys, I still have J. Stew and with Carolina going to more of a passing offense in real life, it would be more realistic to pass more often anyway.

Any chance I could swing a deal for Dez, and Choice? Just from looking at the stats it appears Dallas is not going to use him as a major back. Plus they drafted Murray.

          Yes Thomas is young

As for a trade involving Dez and choice...

Williams would have to be the back to go. Probably would cost you a 1st/3nd round pick in the current year, and a 2nd or 3rd next year too to pry dez away from the cowboys at this point.

That is a steep price. He is a good player tho. Could I sweeten the deal much by throwing Nannae into the mix? I have a lot of faith in LaFell and with him as WR #3 plus Shockey/Olsen, there is not going to be many passes left to dish out. Choice would be a super pick up because he is a good receiver as well as a solid back. Stewart/Choice/Goodson with Smith/Dez/LaFell and Shockey/Olsen is a better team hands down.

Also, does Carolina have the budget to sign T.O. or TJ Houz...? I know the game lets you sign them for like 680K but would Carolina have enough to sign one of these guys today to a realistic contract?

Haha I was hoping that maybe some teams would see him as a development project or a possession receiver. He is just an average wide out for us so we need to upgrade big time

I kno he's not a big name but why don't u give Gettis a shot at the #2? he did some good things for u guys last year...i know he's injured IRL, but he might turn into something decent...and that way u don't have to trade any picks

True, the only thing that worries me about Gettis is that he had about the same impact that LaFell had this preseason and LaFell is not exactly burning it up right now. While these guys( Nannae, Gettis, LaFell ) are solid, I am not sure any of them have what it takes to be a legit 2nd option to Steve Smith.

So I am wanting to use the draft to progress the defense. Landing a solid second option at WR would be huge. That way I can use my picks to draft defensive talent.

That being said I need to shy away from guys that will cost me high picks. Are there many solid guys that I can make a deal for with DeAngelo straight up? What about Greg Little or Michael Crabtree? Braylon Edwards?

If you can get Michael Crabtree, he's pretty good. Not very fast, though. That guy in Denver, Demeytrius Williams (i think that's his name) seems great and he's not rated very high so you could probably get him fairly easily. I have a Panthers franchise and I had T.O. He actually wasn't that good. He dropped A LOT of passes. You can try him out, though, maybe you'll have better success. He's a great compliment to Steve Smith in terms of size and strength. David Gettis is also very good. I didn't realize it until my second season. He's a good #2. Don't forget about Greg Olsen. He actually led my team in receiving yards and TDs last season. He is a BEAST and holds onto everything. He's really my #1 target.

Probably the best move of Carolina's busy off season this year was signing Olsen. He has helped our team out so much and really has gave Cam a solid option. If we can get that #2 guy, then I really think we will be lethal. I am definitely willing to give Gettis a shot. With him being injured I haven't played with him much at all. I do know that Nannae is not cutting it.

I can see T.O. not working out well. I have always believed he was over rated but I also thought that this would make him the perfect madden player. I would probably have to find a guy that I like or I wouldn't target him much.

I am really liking the sound of this Denver WR. Any chance I could get him and McGahee? McGahee is one of my favorite backs. Hes a work horse. J. Stew and him would make a solid rushing attack.

Crabtree would be a steep price most likely

The only reason I can see cleveland denying a greg little deal involving deangelo williams is because carolina signed williams to that RIDICULOUS contract....madden probably doenst have it updated though.

Strictly on a talent based deal though, Cleveland would be insane to turn down little for williams....however I dont think little would be much of an upgrade if any over your current backup recievers.

If you want to trade williams straight up for a reciever, i'd try to get maybe like a pierre garcon deal or a player of his calibur.
