The launch would likely be simultaneous for all territories, but that doesn't necessarily rule out a 2014 release in some countries. The initial launch is expected to come by the 2013 holiday season, but few analysts expect it to come any earlier than that.

Develop also reports on several other rumors that lend credibility to an upcoming console launch. Namely that Lionhead Studios is currently working on a project known internally as Fable Next, which is expected to launch on a new console. Another source reports that EA has rudimentary next-generation console technology already (which EA has denied).

For now, all of these are rumors, and Microsoft has declined to comment on any of them. If a new console does launch in late 2013, it would coincide with the predicted 2014 release Unreal Engine 4, which **** CEO Tim Sweeney told us about last month.

Figures Microsoft would be the first company out the door with a new system. But ain't 2013 a little to soon?? I see EA is one of the companies getting envolved in the new gen already. Hoping for a whole new Madden engine when the new system comes out in 2013. But probably want buy one until the year 2015 when the price is way down. Going to stick with xbox 360 for good long while.:y7:

Pass for the first 2-3 years, I'm nowhere near done enjoying my XBOX 360 and I don't see the capabilities maxed out QUITE yet.

Microsoft is the first console that has leaked info, this doesn't mean that Sony doesn't have something up its sleeve..

I don't think 2013 is too soon.......considering the 360 has been around since 2005 that will have been 8 years with the 360. That is pretty damn good considering that they had killed the original in 4 years and most console gen cycles last 5 years max before new hardware is out. On the flip side, I do not blame you for wanting to wait another year or two afterwards considering how lousy this gen started off with bad pricing, bad sports games, etc.

A new console won't bring much in terms of a graphical upgrade.

Games are pretty damn incredible looking as it is.

I think we've hit a point where the content is more important than how it looks.

Well I've never bought a next gen. system when they first come out. Never have never will. Xbox 360 is the main reason why I will never buy a next gen system when it first comes out. Because when the 360 first came out it had alot problems with overheating and RROD. It took MS nearly 4 to 5 years to solve their problems with this RROD problem. So I think I will stick with the 360 for another 4-5 years until the next gen consoles bugs are worked out and the price falls way down. Not willing to pay 800$ for a new console. LOL
