How are defensive linemen chasing down Robert Griffin in the backfield?

This happens all the time. Take any fast QB, Taj Boyd, Denard Robinson, Robert Griffin, etc. They cannot get away from the 65 speed D-linemen. Even at full momentum, the DL somehow closes the 5 yard gap between them and takes him down for the sack.

This is a huge problem. Griffin and Robinson scrambling away from the pressure is a big part of their game. Its sad how thats completely nerfed.

Try it out yourself if you haven't experienced it yet. Take Griffin, snap the ball and wait for a DE to disengage form the OL. Start sprinting completely laterally. The 65-70 speed DE will outrun your 88+ speed QB and chase him down for the sack. What in the world.

This is with speed threshold at 30.

This is why I HATE the pursuit rating. It gives too much of a boost.

Yep, with Lineman at the same or higher pursuit ratings as LBs and DBs you get this; and the DEs covering both the QB and HB on read option plays.

Edit Pursuit down and you will see a huge difference.
