who cares, i said it before, the shoes in this game look like minecraft, 2K used like a dozen polygons to make them, lol

i just cant get excited about something that looks like it's straight out of NBA 2K04 way back in the xbox and PS2 days, looka this garbage i dont know why more people don't complain about it

I have to disagree here. The lack of detail is a result of less polys used. Not to mention the crappy UV Mapping and shoe skins used. 2K could've put more effort into sneaker models. It's not like the handful of sneakers in Nike ID are high poly because their not. The majority of the sneaker models are very similar if not the same base model. Just a few polys added here and there, detached, modified and assigned basic materials. The same approach used for Nike ID should've been applied to ALL sneakers. The old system clearly lacks.

There's no way new sneakers such as the Adidas Crazy Lights posted above should looks so hideous

I'm sure a lot of sneaker heads are rolling over in their graves once again this year

i mean call me crazy, but i've never really taken the time to examine the shoes close up. i thought they looked fine on the court and left it at that.

this is xbox360, and the game looks noticeably better for this system than it does for PS3 it's why i bought the xbox copy...

the shoes look bad because it's obvious if they fit any more polygons into each shoe they would probably have framerate issues, which is sad and leads to a whole nother issue i created a thread about their ancient game physics/graphics engine that they been using since the old days of PS2 and xbox, possibly even dreamcast...

also i mean the attention to detail really bothers me, 2K acts like they put a lot of effort with shoes for the so called sneakerheads, yet i go start a game with the Chicago Bulls and notice D Rose wearing his old AdiZero shoes he wore in last years playoffs, when his newly released shoes are actually in the friggin game ?!

also I had to go edit the 97-98 Lakers Kobe and give him the Adidas Crazy 8's he wore and is his most famous shoe to date, they literally gave him some generic shoes to rock.. i actually edited most of the old school teams replacing generic shoes....

so little simple things like that aside from at least the shoes looking respectable, which right now they don't and i doubt they will until next gen consoles... their reasoning probably is, well when you play the game you can't notice the detail anyway, yea it's true but still sucks seeing shoes lookin like they do

Plain and simple, the shoes need work, nba live is miles ahead of them in that department. They're is no excuse for all shoes to have same mirror model. The Jordan's are horrible. They made KD and Kobe's high tops, they even made lebron 9z ugly looking. Maybe next year.
