What is so bad about this game?

Hey guys, Long time lurker first time poster here. I'm a huge football fan from Northern Ireland and I don't want to buy Madden this year but I finally found a website that sells NCAA 12 to the UK for not that much so I bought it.

My question to you guys is what is so bad about this game? I keep reading things about how the game is so bad. I played the demo and thought it was quite good, obviously there is room for improvement but it was still a good start.

I agree with you. I probably do not play NCAA 12 as much as some of the other OS members, but this game has had a harsh amount of criticism, some fair some over the top. Definately room for improvement but the games I have played have been fun.....and that is why we play right?

This is what I think. I like it to be realistic as well, and this game does a good job. Its a good base for the next games in the series at least.

Unless the game has drastically changed from the demo it seems good, I guess I'll find out in a few days.

You do know that the glitch thread is at 59 pages, right?

A few reasons why this game pisses me off:

-psychic dbs
-superhuman lbs
-defenders have instant reaction times
-unrealistic ball trajectory
-no fade passing
-psychic playcalling
-psychic audibling
-horrible lead blocking ai(leading blocker runs within 2 inches of CB then changes his mind and turns inside to block a DT 10 feet away)
-horrible wr blocking ai(just stands there)
-cpu ball carrier runs like he's blind and has an IQ of 13
-guys stop holding their blocks as soon as you get to them
-broken option defense
-defenders can magically pivot 180 on a dime while running at full speed
-unrealistic DE pursuit(RG3 can't outrun a crappy scrub DE)
-wrs not attempting to catch balls
-balls hitting wrs in head
-pass leading with stick = ridiculously sailed pass
-play action pass results in a sack WAY too often before you even get the passing icons
-getting sacked if you get touched while "only" 99% through your passing animation
-godmode animations(5 defenders miss sacks on QB standing still because he's in a glitched animation)
-mind bogglingly stupid playcalling on RTG (4th and long on your own 20 with 17 seconds left, calls a run...etc)
-broken play challenge
-getting fired for no reason
-absurdly unrealistic dynasty simulation (i.e. marshall vs. fresno st for the national championship, random bad teams going undefeated)
-ridiculously high frequency of clipping calls
-transfer failed
-LOTS OF FREEZES
-glitches/cheats/freezes in online play
-injuries when blowing out cpu
-tendency bug
-prestige bugs
-athletes can only play one position
-bowl game crowds
-custom playbooks
-stupid looking equipment(incorrect facemask position)
-recruiting is boring and repetitive
-same old commentary

I can agree with phycic because I have seen all that aswell. Clipping calls most annoy me ingame. 5-6 clipping calls is very unrealistic. All the phycic parts are right because the defense doesnt block recievers when a run is called just takes off for the rb. Wrs do get hit in the head and do not dive when they should.

Nope, Didn't realise. Sure there are a lot of glitches but it seems like a great improvement over last year.

I do despise that physic players, playcalling etc. though. That really bugs the **** out of me.

Most of this stuff is because of the same old piss poor code they have been using for years. Only now they see they cant fix it because its so old and written and we-written over and over now when they try to fix something it screws something else up so their convienent excuse is "Its too hard wait till next year". Its not really the console its just the programs they have that arent good enough.

While I love this game and think it's the 2nd best sports game I've ever played, it definitely has its issues. I know of them all and I still enjoy the game, but a lot of people don't. If you're having fun with it, I'd recommend that you adopt a "head in the sand" approach towards it. Even though OS users have a lot of very vocal opponents of the game, I'd bet that vast majority of people who play the game (most of which I'm sure don't peruse forums for the game) have a blast with it because they don't know of the issues others have with it.

While I have no problem enjoying it despite its known flaws, if you think these could sour you on the game, just don't read about the issues and have a blast with the game yourself.

Nope, Didn't realise. Sure there are a lot of glitches but it seems like a great improvement over last year.

Man...Thats always the silver lining logic with EA sports titles and fans of football are tired of it man. Its good for some but for folks who want to really play football, EA's claim to this being the best thing besides real saturdays is a lie and a travesty. A game that doesnt even have penalties or the animations to correspond to them is downright sad and its been that way since NCAA first came out on 360....so....5 years now and the fundamentals of football are still broken? Crowd still looks bad, stadiums are still wrong for many fans, players still look cartoonish and less liek they should...I mean just take the pads and legs for instance. It doesnt look right. I mena is it fun? Sure...but is dynasty worth your time...I would rather receive an unlubbed catheter. (hope that doesnt go against any rules) I dont know...so many issues but hey...it is better than last years I suppose.

Basically, if you're looking for a quick, good time with your friends, it's a good game. However, if you're looking for a realistic, immersive, football experience, this isn't the game for you.

This is what I hate. I wanna play with Michigan but can't because it is damn near impossible to run a legit read-option in this game. To me, the run blocking in this game is pathetic. They continue to not make this realistic. Linebackers know exactly when I am going to run the ball and Olinemen let go of there blocks constantly. It really is pathetic
