The Vikings are such a non-entity right now that even the networks that pay to televise their games don't want them. The NFL moved Minnesota's Week 13 game against Denver from a 4 p.m. ET start to 1 p.m., and shifted it from CBS to FOX, even though the AFC's Broncos are the visiting team and thus CBS has the rights to the game. That's the very definition of must-not-see TV.

I'm surprised so many people don't understand this rule. The away team has always decided which network a game is on. At least since I can remember in the early 90's.Comment

re: Week 13: Denver Broncos (5-5) @ Minnesota Vikings (2-8)
It's possible. I don't know the actual rule, just thinking about when I watch the games. The Ravens are on CBS for me 90% of the time. I can't say I remember exactly if it lines up that they were on FOX when they were home against an NFC team or not but it doesn't seem like it. The Skins are also on FOX 90% of the time. If they were set to play on CBS the game wouldn't show in Baltimore. Doesn't seem like that happens enough (or their on CBS enough) for it to be when they are home against an AFC team.
I'll take your word for it though since it supports the tweet and I've got no facts to back my thoughts up, lol.Comment

San Diego @ Chicago was just on CBS. On Thursday GB/Det is the Fox game, Miami/Dallas is the CBS game.
I think you just learned something new today, lol.Comment

I thought it was that the network that gets the rights to a game between an AFC/NFC team is the one that doesn't normally broadcasts the home team's in-conference games.
So, if an AFC team plays an NFC one, and the NFC one is the home team, then the game is on CBS since the NFC team's games are normally covered by Fox when they're playing another NFC team.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Right, so the easy way to say that is that the away team determines which network the game is on.I thought it was that the network that gets the rights to a game between an AFC/NFC team is the one that doesn't normally broadcasts the home team's in-conference games.

It can be changed when the NFL sees fit, which is the case here. My guess is it had something to do with Tebow. We must blame all things on him.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 11-23-2011, 02:44 PM.Comment

AFC @ NFC-CBS has the game
NFC @ AFC-FOX has the game
Been that way for a while as far I know.#RespectTheCultureComment

Gb/Det doesn't matter. That's NFC on FOX... always like that (and viceversa for AFC vs AFC).
But yep, looks like I did.

You can't go against the Mighty Tebows.
So yeah, Denver by a TD or something like that.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
