Charlotte, Carolina - The Panthers got destroyed, demolished and polished by Beanie Wells. He simply turned their defense inside out. It seemed like everytime he touched the ball he got 10 or more yards. Not too mention the 96 yard run he broke. They also got a couple of lucky deep strikes in the passing game. The Panthers defense just couldn't contain. It was a disappointment for Cam to watch his team get beat defensively so bad in his rookie debut. However, Cam never gave up on his team. He found a way to put it in the endzone 4 times in this game and racking up a total of 575 yards. He made an extremely hard effort at the end of the game to pull away with the win. It just didn't happen though. Smith and Williams also had nice efforts on the offense. Hopefully the defense will be more prepared next week and Cam can win his first NFL game.

Panthers Land Up and Coming Receiver

Charlotte, Carolina - Just after the embarrassing defensive struggle against the Cardinals, the Panthers improved their receiving corps? Strange, but if happened. When we caught up with new GM and Coach McNugget, he had this too say. "Jacoby Ford is a great player, he's got a ton of potential. I wouldn't be surprised if he finds himself having 1,200 yard seasons. Cam will definitely learn to love Ford. He gives us a tad bit more of receiver depth which we definitely don't have. As for the price, I thought I struck a gold mine. I only had to give up a '12 2nd Rounder. Many of you will consider this overpaying, but in the future, when you see what he can do, you'll know it's not."

                    Offensive X-Factor
                    Cam Newton
He needs to be able to do it all today. The Packers have a good secondary and an even better linebacker core. If he can stay calm in the pocket and make good decisions when he runs, we should be able to take down this defense.

                    Defensive X-Factor

                    Chris Gamble
Gamble absolutely needs to contain Greg Jennings. If Jennings is getting open easily the game is over from the start.

Charlotte, North Carolina - As much as our defense stepped up against one of the most dynamic offenses in the league, I think I'd give more credit to the weather. The Packers obviously weren't ready to play in the rain and they were making silly mistakes. If it wasn't raining out, the Panthers most likely still would have won, however, in a closer game. As for the offense, Cam did better than the stat sheet says. Two of his three interceptions were the most bull****ted luckiest things I've ever seen. As for his 20 caught passes out of 40, well, that was exactly what the stat sheet says. Too many balls were getting put into tight spaces. Smith and Williams both continued to do great and could really be considered the cornerstone of this offense.

                        Game Notes
Carolina are coming off a nice win over the Packers, hoping their defense can have the same type of performance. --

Jacksonville are struggling so far this season and are looking for a win over a 'relatively easy' opponent.

                        Offensive X-Factor
                        Jacoby Ford
Steve Smith will be getting tightly covered by Rashean Mathis all game and Williams will have a tough time against a decent linebacker corps. Ford will need to be able to take some of Smith's load.

                        Defensive X-Factor
                        Charles Johnson
The Panthers are going against a rookie QB. The easiest way to get in their heads? Constant and non-stop pressure. As the Panthers top pass rusher, Johnson will have to be in the back-field all game.

Charlotte, North Carolina - Cam is definitely going to go through some growing pains. No doubt about it, but this game my friends, definitely wasn't one of them. Cam tore up the defense and had a 131.1 QB Rating. He went above and beyond expectations. The defense was also a huge part in the win, they kept rookie QB Blaine Gabbert uncomfortable in the pocket by sacking him 11 times. As for MJD, the stat sheet doesn't say it all. He broke a huge gain, somewhere around 85 yards, and for the rest of the game, he was completely shut down. If the Panthers can play like this week in and week out, there is no doubt that they'll be a playoff team.

Panthers Make Multiple Transactions Before Game

Steve Smith was getting old. We all know it. But one deal from him cause a string of deals. Within these deals, the Panthers truly got better. They improved the defensive line greatly so you shouldn't be seeing what you saw against the Cardinals anymore.

The Panthers are on a little hot streak outscoring opponents 60-20 in the past 8 quarters. --
Chicago haven't jumped out as hot as everyone was expecting from them. They hope to gain some trust back against a rookie QB.

                              Jacoby Ford
Ford will enter the game as the #1 WR in hopes to take advantage of Tillman. Tillman may be the slowest starting CB in the NFL while Ford may be the fastest WR in the NFL.

                              Newly Formed D-Line
This past week the Panthers made 3 trades and gained 3 defensive lineman. All of the D-Lineman they acquired will start this week. The lineman need to stop Forte if they want any chance to win the game.
