    My First Dynasty

Alright so I got kind of impatient waiting for my Head Coach '09 dynasty post to be approved in the dynasty forum, so I posted it in my dynasty blog. 3 posts up so far, with another on the way. Hope you guys like it

So with free agency pretty much out of the way, I'll be turning my attention to the draft. Now I'm not going to go in-depth with my scouting like I did with the Senior Bowl and Scouting Combine since I don't really want to give away who my first round pick is going to be, though it's pretty obvious IMO. Question is: will he be available at #12?

I've seen him fall to 12, but it's uncommon. You'll most likely have to trade up to get him.

I went back to read your previous entries, but for some reason, the website insists that you do not have a blog at all, even though it lists the last 4 posts. Very weird. Anyway, since you've only made 5 total, I can read all but the first one.

Anybody have any idea why the site is telling me there is no blog when obviously there is one?

Yeah I kind of figured, but how far up should I make a trade for someone like him?

I'm not sure why, but have you read my first dynasty post? If you're looking for it and are having trouble finding it, I can send you a copy via PM.

Just finished adding the continuation of free agency for my Broncos. After reading this I'm sure you'll understand why this draft is going to be a tough one for me. So I will have the draft results up in a few hours after I get some sleep (2 a.m. Mountain Time by the time I am posting this).

I wouldn't go higher than 6, but I generally try to avoid drafting in the top 8.

So it looks like I'm going to have to sweet talk the Jets then as they have #6 this time around. Though I might take a chance and go for #5 (KC Chiefs) since we're both looking at drafting the same player this season. Just looking at the Mock Draft says enough personally, but again I'm not going to give anything away (even though it's been kinda hard not to)

Getting both Clady and Rivers is impressive, but I expect you won't have a lot in the 2009 draft. I can't believe Flacco went at 6.

Yeah the Jets were really desperate this time around. They usually pick pretty much anyone but him or trade (up or down). What really surprised me were the Rams. I have never seen them pick anyone but Gholston or Chris Long at #2, but when they called Harvey's number my jaw dropped.

With how short I am for picks in the '09 draft (first pick isn't until 3rd round) I might trade down during the next draft or trade away some '09 picks to fill what holes I have left, which is not many.

Also, the trade up to #5... funny story actually. I managed to low ball the Chiefs into the trade to keep my original pick. The Bills come up at #11 and decided to trade down since I already took Rivers at #5. I pick Clady at number #12, and watch as the Bills take Gholston at #15 and the Chiefs take Chris Williams at #17

Alright pre-season is done and the first look at the team's roster and depth chart are up and running, though I had a technical difficulty that caused me to restart the pre-season. I'll have week 1 stats and such on at a later date this week (obviously before Christmas).

Lovin' the wheelin and dealin! Rivers and Clady would look great on my squad. Keep it up, I'll be following.

Wheeling and Dealing indeed The price I paid to acquire Rivers is starting to pay off as he, Derrick Johnson, and DeMeco Ryans were stuffing LT in the backfield all day. I just wish the run game for us was more productive; I'd really hate to have to fire some people at the end of the season (or worse get fired myself). Oh that reminds me; week 2 stats are up on my dynasty page.

Anyone have any ideas how I can improve the run game

I just don't get it. That's the best O-Line I think I've fielded with the Broncos in HC '09, and they allowed all those freakin' sacks

I just hope it's all part of the O-Line trying to find their grove together; otherwise someone's gonna be losing their job. *sneers at OL coach*

Remember that learning the plays is very important, at times more important than talent. It sounds like you have an entirely new o-line and they will need time to build up their knowledge. By the 6-7th week, their numbers should be better.

This game makes it so that having the same core will be better then constantly switching out pieces every year. Thats why Cutler is doing well while the runningback is still struggling. Give it time and you should be doing very well.
