association gets boring? What do you guys do to keep it playable
It seems like every time i play association mode, after a few games i get bored and quit. I play 11 min quarters so i get realistic stats. What do you guys do to keep it playable?Tags: None -

Try controlling every team. It rarely gets stale plus you can alter playing time based on injuries, team records, emerging rookies etc. I play every game on the schedule -

I do franchise reports on another site i go on. A lot of people follow it as well. You can also do a franchise report on this site as well. I usually tell myself not to get bored. Use a team that's fresh. Maybe with a starting rookie like Kemba, or Kyrie.
You can also try to bring back a team from the dead. Here's a challenge, make the Detroit Pistons a dominating eastern conference team. Make realistic trades, and see if you can take them to the playoffs. They also have Brandon Knight, who could possibly be your starting PG for years to come.Comment

When you start a franchise, and it gives you options..you should see the option to control all 32 teams. The first option you see when you want to start a franchise.Comment

I always knew how you could control all teams ,but never tried it. Do teams still trade between each other?Comment

Eh, i'm not completely sure this is correct. Whenever I played with all teams, they never trade between one another.
If someone else can verify, i'll take back my stance.Comment

I'd try to get rid of those ridiculously large contracts for somewhat good realistic deals..just rebuild around Brandon Knight. Maybe bring in Harrison Barnes from the draft if you get a high enough pick.Comment

Re: association gets boring? What do you guys do to keep it playable
Well I knew the first thing I had to do was re-sign Rodney Stuckey, as he was my only scoring option.
Next thing, I wanted to get rid of Tayshaun Prince, Ben Gordon and Ben Wallace.
I traded Ben Gordon and Will Bynum to the Hornets for Emeka Okafor and Willie Green.
Then, I traded Tayshaun Prince to the Clippers for Ryan Gomes and a 1st round pick.
I got a few trade offers for Ben Wallace, but I realized he was an expiring contract, so i decided to just let him come off the books for the chance to sign a FA in the off-season.
I then got a trade offer I couldn't pass up. As much as I like Brandon Knights game, I got offered Ricky Rubio for him and a 1st round pick. I just re-signed Stuckey to a long term deal, so I have Knight a chance to go start somewhere while Rubio will be the good backup that I know he can be.
So i'm at the All-Star game in my first season and my roster looks like this..
PG: Rodney Stuckey
SG: Willie Green
SF: Charlie Villenueva
PF: Jason Maxiell
C: Emeka Okafor
6: Greg Monroe
Ben Wallace/Ricky Rubio/Austin Daye/Ryan Gomes/Damien Wilkins/Jonas Jerekbo
I'm incredibly weak at every position besides PG and C. Austin Daye could develop into something in the future but right now it's not looking good. Definitely going to make for an interesting off-season in Detroit.Comment
