Back on Top | New England Patriots Franchise (Madden 12)

Back on Top | A New England Patriots Franchise
    Game: Madden NFL 12
    System: Xbox 360
    Difficulty: All-Madden (No Sliders)
    Quarter Length: 15 Minutes
    Pre-Existing Injuries: Off

Alright, hey guys. I've had a few franchises before, but got a new xbox and couldn't convert the saved games over, so I'm starting new again. Now that I know I won't have any problems with my hard drive or none of that I should have a long lasting franchise. What I plan to do with this franchise is build a better defense revolving around Jerod Mayo and Vince Wilfork. Also, at some point throughout the season, if I find out Ryan Mallett is not the answer, then I will draft someone else to take over the great Tom Brady. I am going to control everything from free agency, staff signing, draft picks, trades and releases, cuts, etc. I always do All-Madden as I feel that's the best challenge and I feel like I'm going to be catching a little break using this team as my former franchises included the Jaguars and Colts. Throughout this entire franchise I will gladly take anyone's opinions on how I can make this 'chise better so please I insist on some criticism. I know I will enjoy it and I hope you guys do as well. Btw I made the banner, thanks to kesleypro for the designs he does (that's where I got the entire design idea from).

            Preseason Week 1
Patriots Make Their First Cuts Before the Game, All Offense
Foxborough, MA -- The Patriots have cut their first four players, which happen to be all offensive players. HB Kevin Faulk, TE Danny Aiken, C Ryan Wendell and RG Rich Ohrnberger have been cut. Kevin Faulk is the most surprising to us as he is a great receiving running back, but I guess the new rookie running backs will take his place.

New England: I am looking forward to seeing the two rookie running backs, Shane Vereen and Stevan Ridley. I am interested in seeing if any of them can take over the number 2 spot or possibly the number 1 spot. I'm also looking forward to a couple of other rookies as well. Ryan Mallett is one to watch as he is going to be developed under Tom Brady until Brady retires, so it will be interesting to see how he plays. Also rookie corner Ras-I Dowling comes in under McCourty and Arrington. I would like to see how he plays against the slot receiver.

Jacksonville: Blaine Gabbert will obviously be the one to watch for this team as he will probably be the starting quarterback. I would like to see how Gabbert does against a well known bad pass defense. New additions Paul Posluszny and Clint Session will take over at Linebacker. Paul Posluszny was 5th last year in total tackles and is coming from the Buffalo Bills to help out the Jaguars rush defense.

It looks as if the running back battle was won by BenJarvus Green-Ellis followed close by Stevan Ridley. Something tells me that Ridley will take over later this year or by next year, this kid is a stud. Also, head coach Bill Belichick hinted that he might retire within the next two years, so New England has to wonder, who could possibly take his place? Will they continue with their heavy offense or will they hire a defensive minded coach to spruce up their terrible defense. We actually asked Bill if he was planning to do anything in the draft for helping the team defensively and he told us, "Well, as any coach knows, the middle linebacker is the core of the team, usually the one taking the role of captain of the team as he is the middle, the core. That's one position I will strongly be looking at this upcoming draft, but that's all I'll release for you guys." Well it looks like we might see a solid MLB playing for the Pats next year. The Patriots are coming to week 1 to go on the road to face the Miami Dolphins, one of their AFC East rivals. Miami's defense has been well ranked the past few years, but I don't think that will be too much trouble for the always amazing Tom Brady and his number 1 go to guy Wes Welker. Players to keep an eye out for are Stevan Ridley, Rob Gronkowski and the new addition of Chad Ochocinco.

New England: New England comes in this season off of a 14-2 season with a loss to the New York Jets in their opening playoff game last year. They want to become the repeating Superbowl Champions again and hope to by starting off against their division rivals, the Miami Dolphins.

Miami Dolphins: Miami comes in this season off of a 7-9 season losing their last 3 games of the season. They will be looking to Matt Moore for the answer as quarterback. With New England's bad pass defense, Brandon Marshall should light them up so be looking for him in this one.

Ochocinco Shines in Debut Last Minute Win
Foxborough, MA -- It was a close one in Miami, but the Patriots came out as victors Monday. Chad Ochocinco had 2 touchdowns on 4 receptions for over 100 yards, one of them being at 0:50 seconds of the 4th quarter to seal the victory. Tom Brady seemed to have struggled in the first three quarters until the last quarter where he needed to step up. We had word with him after the game about how he felt about his performance, he said, "I thought I did okay. My accuracy was off, but I'll get back to normal on that. I have to say, this defense here is a top 10 defense in my eyes, maybe even top 5. They have the stingiest defense I have seen and I'm actually quite impressed. I couldn't get an inch of room with my receivers, but thank god Chad is so tall haha. They forced Wes and Gronk to drop a few balls which you don't see happen often with those guys, so hopefully it will be easier next game against them at home." We also talked to the MLB Brandon Spikes about his stellar defensive game. He had 12 tackles and an interception that forced the Dolphins to suffer their final drive. After Bill Belichick's comments about his future MLB we asked Spikes about that, he told us, "Haha yeah I heard about that. It's almost like fuel for me to go out there and prove I'm your man. If I keep this up will I be surprised that we draft a linebacker? No way man. I welcome anyone to this team and will gladly teach them all I know to give them the best career they can have. So, Bill, bring them in. Let's rebuild this defense." That's all we have for you today as the Patriots won 27-23. Here is the box score in case you missed the game.
