why rondo is ineffective in 2k12? :(

I love rondo, but only as a friend <3
rondo in defense is good but his scoring in this game is ****ed up. His rebounding stats are also hard to get.
AI also plays rondo so bad, it looks like he's not a star in boston ciltics )

Rondo is neither a scorer or rebounder in RL...sounds pretty realistic to me.

            I agree, he's averaged 22 points and 5 rebounds and he's 6'1'. Oh yeah and 10 assists

Rondo is not a scoring or rebounder. He is a playmaker for his teammates. He will score on occasion and it's a plus when he does.

so why did derek fisher score 10 pts per game last year? OOOH. But yeah, rondo needs a better shoot in traffic rating, his lay ups in real life reflect this. Giving him a jump shot at this point wouldn't be fair, but cmon, at least give him credit where he has earned it.

only pts rondo can score is either layup or midrange but he's not automatic from midrange...that's something like Ricky Rubio, dude was shooting 0/22 from 3pt line on european championship

Re: why rondo is ineffective in 2k12?

I have no problem being effective with Rondo.
I played a 29 game season with the Celts and he ave. 18 ppg 12 apg and 6 rpg.
Thats a pretty realistic and effective season if you ask me.
You just have to know how to use him. If you try to shoot a bunch of jumpers with him he will struggle. You have to slash and penitrate to get your points with him.

if you think rondo sucks in this game, you need to keep practicing and get better. no other way to say it. he is rated in the 90's for a reason.

I thought he was in the late 80s? Anyway the best way to score with players like rondo is to use the eurostep and hopsteps in the paint. In 2k for the past 2 years eurostepping and hopstepping has been the go to move for smaller guys with good layups.

Rondo is the 2nd best rebounding PG under Kidd. Should be higher than it is.

Re: why rondo is ineffective in 2k12?

I have no problem getting a realistic statline with Rondo (double double with like 12-18 points and 10-16 assists is pretty normal for me), but I don't think I've ever been able to get rebounds with him. To everyone saying "oh, well he isn't a rebounding guard anyway"... that's not really true. The only other pointguard who I've recently watched who was as effective at rebounding as Rondo is is Jason Kidd. He doesn't usually do it as much in the regular season, but when the playoffs come around Rondo fills the statline as well as any pointguard.

                              2007-2008 Playoffs: 10.2 pts, 6.6 ast, 4.1 reb
                              2008-2009 Playoffs: 16.9 pts, 9.8 ast, 9.7 reb
                              2009-2010 Playoffs: 15.8 pts, 9.3 ast, 5.6 reb
                              2010-2011 Playoffs: 14.0 pts, 9.6 ast, 5.4 reb

('08-'09 stats bolded for emphasis on how awesome he was)

He averages 4.4 rebounds per game (regular season) for his career, which is rather good for a point guard. That's more than Ray Allen, Jeff Green, and Jermaine O'Neal averaged last season for the Celtics, and almost as much as Shaq averaged. The only Celtics who appear to have had significantly more success than Rondo at rebounding last season are Perkins (first half of the season when he was still on the Celtics), Garnett, and Pierce.
