How do YOU think LeBron compares to MJ?

I thought this would be an interesting topic to start so I did. I think LeBron is not to MJ status yet, but he will get there. He's a flat out beast. What do you think?

I don't think there is any comparison.

They play different positions.(Jordan - shooting guard, LeBron - small forward).

They have completely different mentalities about the game. (Jordan - score first mentality, attack at all times, win at ANY cost. LeBron - pass first, make a few highlight reel plays per game, differ to teammates.)

They have completely different mentalities about life. (Jordan - consumed by being the best at everything he did, hypercompetitive, & driven like no one else. LeBron - laid back, make money, be famous, play some basketball.)

From a basketball standpoint, there was no point in Jordan's career where he played like LeBron plays. If Jordan KNEW he was able to get to the basket at all times, he did it. He wouldn't settle for a 20 foot jumper. Even though he was a good passer, he never went out LOOKING to pass all the time. LeBron is more like a Scottie Pippen/Magic Johnson/prime Grant Hill type of player.

Even if LeBron wins 6 rings, there will be no comparison because he won't have done it as convincingly as Jordan. (keep in mind, LeBron has already lost in 2 Finals...Jordan never lost in the Finals; never even went to Game 7.)

I get so annoyed when people say "LeBron is still younger than Jordan was when he was his first title....". Yeah, no ****...he entered the league 3 years younger than Jordan did. Look at it from this stand point - LeBron has now been in the league for 2 years longer than Jordan had when he won his first title. Jordan was in pursuit of his 3rd title by this stage in his career. So, no one should ever be able to get away with the "He's the same age as Jordan was..." comment.

I don't think that LeBron will ever be held in the same regard as Jordan simply because he'll never win a title as the main guy on a team. He may put up better numbers than Wade, but Dwyane Wade is the clear cut leader of that team; the guy who they go to when they need a basket late.

I would like to borrow an excerpt from Bill Simmons' book here and say - "I wish we'd make a pact to agree that (a) there will never be another MJ, and (b) we're not allowed to compare anyone to him anymore."

Ok, sorry I wasnt clear, I meant to say like, how does LeBron compare to MJ skill wise? Not play-styles.

LeBron at the end of his career will go down as one of the greats of all time no doubt, just like MJ. But, as was stated earlier, different play styles different mentalities; you can't compare the two.
