Where would you even preorder the game? (And what is the optimal place?) I've never done that before, since I don't normally buy games close to their releases.

bobhead, anywhere basically.

any brick and mortar store, i.e. best buy, gamestop, target, walmart, etc etc.
online retailers like amazon....and well amazon.

they r the best.
also any of the brick and mortar stores will do it via online as well.

Russell either here or at the playstation blog will announce a pre order bonus [if there is one] and links to sites to do it online.

I use the Power Up Rewards program at GameStop. I haven't paid full price for a game this year. Trade in, buy preowned sometimes, you get so many points. I had over 80,000 points this last year. Plus a couple gift cards from family equalling 120$. But I still bought about 25 games this year.

So I can pre-order the game before any pre-order package is announced? I don't have to wait and do it through SCEA or something? Like I can just go to Gamestop tomorrow and pre-order this and everything else happens automatically?

Unless there is a specific reason to do so, I'll just walk into the store (I'm on a GS boycott right now, so likely Best Buy) and pick it up on release day. Last year, I think there was one other guy that bought The Show in the store I used to go to.

I wonder if Sony will be releasing another MLB-themed PS3 controller? I picked up last year's and still use it, but wouldn't mind having another as a backup.
