Re: Is NBA 2K12 worth the upgrade?
The main upgrades from NBA 2K11 to NBA 2K12 is an updated and much-improved My-Player mode (still can be improved a lot, but this one is a lot better than last year's), more legendary teams and players to unlock and play with, and better-flowing gameplay. The gameplay from 2K11 to 2K12 is a major upgrade because the game just flows much nicer. The CPU ball movement, play-calling, and off-the-ball movement while you control the ball for your team, while still not great, is much better. Definitely worth the cash in my opinion. Good luck.

Re: Is NBA 2K12 worth the upgrade?
If you're involved in an Association, I'd say no, it's not worth it. The on-court gameplay, imo, isn't as good. The cpu does some things this year that will make you shake your head. Oh, and there are no adjustments made by the AI in the way of double-teams on hot players; they are non-existent. Combine that with a cpu opponent that still hasn't really improved in its execution and I find it hard to recommend 2K12 - unless the flashier graphics and nicer presentation sway you.
If you were primarily a quick-game-against-friends kind of player like I am, it's absolutely worth it for the updated rosters and the added bonus of better visuals/presentation.Comment

Re: Is NBA 2K12 worth the upgrade?
as far as i am aware no it hasn't....looks like a calculation problem!...very off-putting when they pop up during a game and ur team is averaging 100 steals a game
you think they would have noticed a bug that stands out so much...
I love association mode but sadly it has been 98% ignored this year!....which is extremely disappointing. If you do decide to purchase NBA 2k12 i recommend downloading The Sim Roster Project or the Dynasty Project Rosters those guys have put in so much time and effort to make the game playable and enjoyable!...Comment

My original impression was no but after playing this game for a few days my opinion has changed dramatically to a definite buy. The game flow seems a lot more fluid and balanced.Steelers, Penguins, Penn State, Pirates, Red Sox, Manchester United.Comment

Re: Is NBA 2K12 worth the upgrade?
Can anybody else chime in? I didn't want to start a new thread, but I'm an offline season/association guy. I've read a lot of good and bad about the game.
I love 2K11 and have a slider set that I really like. The only thing that irritates the hell out of me is the rebounding numbers (I can never get anyone on my team to average above 10 unless I sim a ton of games in assoc).
I'm itching for some updated rosters and whatnot. If the AI in this game is as bad as people make it seem, is it even worth it? And how is the rebounding game in 2k12, because that's honestly what irritates me the most about 2k11 (can never get a big man to an All Star team or anything because they suck at grabbing boards).
Opinions are greatly appreciated.Comment

Re: Is NBA 2K12 worth the upgrade?
No, if you do not have patients and a good handle on your anger. Getting an opinion here isn't a good idea because you have the fanboys and the people that just don't like 2k. Some are impartial as in myself. I just want a realistic basketball game doesn't matter from whom. The two major issues in this game is the ball physics and collision system. The cpu has crossed the boarder of challenging to just plain cheating, the collision system is basically unfair, you'll get knocked down in air by smaller players, cpu doesn't collide with you, when in reality that is what should have happen, and it feels like your sliding all over the place. The cpu is almost god, speed recovery (go to youtube and search nba 2k12 speed is a joke). Basically the game is un-balance, but like I said if you can endure it and not rage quit go for it, probably should get a used copy, its a lot of them at my gamestop.ARE YOU LOOKING FOR YOUTUBE CHANNELS DEDICATED TO THE SIM COMMUNITY CLICK THE LINKS BELOW, AND SUBSCRIBE FOR ALL SIM CONTENT.
