I live near the Barons & go to several games a year.
I hope CF Trayce Thompson (son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson)
plays for the Barons this year, & hopefully Knight & Co. will make him a B prospect

I know for a fact he's starting the year in Winston-Salem on the Dash (High-A). The Sox seem to not be rushing him at all, so I would think he only makes an appearance in Birmingham if he lights up Advanced Single-A. The lone positional bright spot in the organization next to Saladino.

I have been a die-hard Sox fan since I was born. Lived in Chicago my entire life! And yeah I actually can not wait to play as them in a franchise. As for the bench you listed above, Flowers and Lillibridge for sure, with a combo of Dan Johnson, Ozzie Martinez, Ray Olmeda, Tyler Kuhn, Jordan Danks as the last 2 spots.

I realize that. The roster listed now is just according to who's on the 40-Man. If I had to guess at the bench, it would be Flowers, Lillibridge, Martinez, and Danks. Maybe Kuhn has an outside chance, but it seems pretty clear the organization is not high at all on him after what was pulled where he spent nearly the whole year in Birmingham when guys like Gookie Dawkins and Andrew Garcia where playing 2B at Charlotte.

I wasn't planning on it. There's a much better group of pitchers that are more worthy of making the list than he is (Snodgress, Johnson, etc.). I'll play it by ear, but initial reactions to the Sox sites I frequent are not what I would call excited. What I'll probably do is create him and put him in the vault if people want to replace someone on the list.

I really only threw Kuhn out there because he clearly isn't going to start in the MLB, but he can play all over the diamond and he would be good for depth. Kinda like how Jordan Danks is destined to be a defensive replacement only outfielder. A great spring from Kuhn can get him a bench spot

I've always been a fan of Kuhn back when he was considered a LF. His problem is that his only tool is his ability to hit. I think that's why the Sox aren't too big on him. But his ability to play all over the diamond, especially 3B. And the fact that Sox have no backup 3B besides Dallas McPherson looks like an opportunity for him. I can't see Brent Morel playing all 162 games at the hot corner this year. I'd say if he hits, and shows that he's not a complete butcher in the field, he's a dark horse to make the team out of ST.

I added the list of CAPs to be included for the roster set in the first post on the first page. If anyone has any questions/concerns/comments, please let me know. As far as potential goes, remember this is the worst farm system in the majors, and there are few bright spots.

Sox signed Kosuke Fukudome to serve as the 4th OF. That means Lillibridge will see plenty of time at 2B/SS when Beckham and Ramirez need a day off. Only 1 open bench spot between Martinez and Escobar. My money is on Martinez, with Escobar playing everyday at Triple-A Charlotte. Updated the first page.
