Now that the entry list is finalized, here is the picking order for this week. The order was based on finishing position in the championship standings, then I did a random draw on the newcomers.

25 Drivers, 25 OSFC competitors. Winner take all event.(5 Points)

Here's how you pick your driver, if you have a pick 1, you can post it in this thread, otherwise you PM with a list with the number next to your name. For Example, Burghfan has pick 5 next to him, he would PM a list with 5 drivers, ranked in order of who he wants.

The bold date and time indicates when your list needs to be in by. If you don't you will be moved to the end of the picking order.

I'm gonna borrow this from Mike,

Pick the amount of cars based on the place you are picking, if you pick 2nd pick 2 cars, 5th 5 cars, and so on.

Place the driver who you want the most at the top, 2nd most 2nd, and so on until you fill the list based on how many you need.

As I gather the list I will mark off cars from your list that have been taken. I will then take the driver who is highest on your list, that is left.

Please send me a PM with your picks. We are all members here at OS, and it's much easier to deal with it all in one place.

If I mess up, please let me know ASAP.

Please don't submit your picks on this thread, unless you want everyone in front of you to know who you really want.

I just had a thought for a way we can get everyone in this race (and perhaps for the All-Star where their are fewer drivers than OSFC participants).

What if instead of picking 1 driver, everyone picks 2 drivers so that every participant has a unique pair of drivers. In this way, more than 1 person can have a driver in common, but no 2 people can have both drivers in common. The winner would then be whoever picked the pair with the highest combined finish. Ties could then be broken by giving it to the person who's driver had the highest finish. for instance.

Person A's drivers finish 2nd and 5th
Person B's drivers finish 3rd and 4th

Then Person A wins by having the driver with the highest finish.

Okay so like I could pick for example car 254 and car 300, you could pick car 300 but not 254 right. But when we send in our picks the first person picking sends in 2 picks instead of one second pick sends in 4 and so on? I like the idea but that's a lot of work for Mo aint it?

With as many people as we have this year. It may be time to make a group at espn fantasy. They have 5 driver teams/etc.

Sort of, could pick 254 or 300 but not both. I guess it would be a little complicated for Mo though.

Perks to being the defending champ I get the first pick for the Bud Shootout.
With that I will take the man that will win the 2012 Cup Championship driver of the Budweiser Chevrolet and dad to be #29 Kevin "Pappy" Harvick.

I wanted to ask all of you was my NASCAR offseason moves thread useful this year? Do you want me to continue updating all the news and moves throughout the season, and do you find it useful especially as we head into the fantasy league.

I enjoyed it. I tend to tune out in the winter. I am a huge baseball fan so I kind of hibernate in the winter and dont watch a whole of stuff. This year though I found Australian Baseball which was actually a blast.

Anyway I like your updates they helped me stay interested in the off season.:cheers:

Out of the drivers that have not been selected yet, rank them 1-8 in order of who you would like to pick with 1 being most wanted and so on. As people get their picks in, Mo will cross them of your list. Once it's your turn, your highest remaining choice will be your driver for the Shootout.

It looks like it's 2006 all over again Jimmie Johnson's Daytona 500 car has failed inspection and NASCAR has confiscated the parts. I posted the story on the NASCAR Off Season Moves thread. This was not his car for tomorrow nights shootout but the car being submitted for Sunday's Daytona 500 qualifying.

John Darby, says "Suspension's is not out of the realm of possibility'' for 48 infractions. Fines and points penalties will likely come the Tuesday after the Daytona 500 if any are made.

Don't worry this was his 500 car so it will not affect anything with the shootout. Fines and penalties will come the Tuesday after the 500 and suspensions will most likely happen. So you'll be okay for tomorrow night. But Chad Knaus is the highest, most penalized and most races suspended crew chief in Nascar history

I think BurghFan is going to be the big winner tonight. Dale Jr has always done big things at Daytona on days associated with his dad and 11 years ago today we lost Dale Earnhardt so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the 88 in victory lane.

Seeing how I didnt make the cut for this race. How hard is it to rebound on points? Im thinking not too hard. But, just wondering if I need to get serious with my picks next week or if I can gamble a bit. Thanks and can't wait!

It's a winner take all event, so it won't be hard at all. 24 of the 25 competitors will leave the Bud Shootout with zero points
