MLB The Show 12 Fantasy Draft

I'm trying to start a fantasy draft but haven't been able to field the kind of team i am looking for. I really like Matt Kemp or Justin Upton at first overall and Starlin Castro 3rd round (or Michael Pineda). I like a team that has a good amount of youth on it. Any ideas for a pick number I should go for or strategy to draft?

For the past 7 years I have been using this FAQ for my fantasy draft. Try it out and tell me what you think. It only goes to the 25th round but I have just started the list over to field my minors. I think it needs an update but is overall well worth the time.

I do fantasy draft and regardless of the pick I get (I ended up getting 1st pick), it's unrealistic because I know who all the "A" potential players are so after trading players away, and making deals..this is my Washington Nationals fantasy team:

      Starting Pitchers
      Clayton Kershaw
      Stephen Strasburg
      Ian Kennedy
      Mat Latos
      Madison Bumgarner

      Bullpen
      Jonny Venters
      Aroldis Chapman
      Jeff Niemann
      Juan Gutierrez
      Pedro Strop

      Closer
      Jason Motte

      Now look at the lineup:

      1. SS - Dee Gordon
      2. 2B - Masahide Yamaguchi
      3. 1B - Eric Hosmer
      4. C - Mike Napoli
      5. CF - Yoenis Cespedes
      6. LF - Conner Roberts
      7. 3B - Anthony Rendon
      8. RF - Bubba Starling
      9. SP

I should NOT be able to get a team THIS good in baseball. Especially the pitching rotation I have. It's pretty ridiculous, but I'm having fun with it.

Oh, and my budget is still fine.

Yeah I was able to grab guys such as Hosmer and Chapman and they have very high ceilings. I also did some trades to get Roy Hallady so now my starting rotation is pretty good (Halladay, J. Santana, Pineda, Lily, Pavano) although this isn't much youth. Just a quetion: was Cespedes in the first online roster update?

I don't know because I immediately downloaded one of the user made "Top 50 prospects" rosters.

So this is fantasy draft completely unrealistic or is it ok?

If that's after trades, no, not really. Pretty easy to trade in this game so far.

If it's before trades, I have no idea how you did it. Strasburg and Kershaw usually go in the first round in mine.

You can do so much when it comes to manipulating the computer into trades. I found a ridiculous loophole that would have allowed me to get chirs carpenter and pujols in the same trade for some nobody. I drafted primarily for hitting and i made 3 realistic deals for pitchers. Here was the turnout

                Catcher : Buster Posey
                1st Base : Freddie Freeman
                2nd Base : Starlin Castro
                3rd Base : Alex Rodriguez
                Short Stop : Derek Jeter
                Left Field : Jason Heyward
                Center Field : Mike Trout
                Right Field : Justin Upton
                Designated Hitter : Jesus Montero

                Chris Carpenter
                Mat Latos
                Madison Bumgarner
                Ted Lilly
                Carl Pavano

                Closer : Johnny Venters

No it was definately after trades but it's very easy to manipulate the cpu into trading. Just draft "A" prospects, and trade them away for star players.

I actually had Bryce Harper too, but traded him away for Bubba Starling to try to make it more fair.
