Tattoos in the game

Someone said a player had his neck tattoo. So why doesn't Hamilton have his arm tattoos? Has Sony explained this?

I believe this is because every player uses one of a set number of models for their bodies where as their face (which includes their neck), MLB players use specific models.

It is well known that Josh Hamilton regrets having his tattoos and I believe has some sort of arrangement with the Players Association where if his image is being used, his tattoos are not to be depicted.

I do not think it matters if he regrets it or not with tats. I am not sure, but don't think so.

It has to do with what the person before said, where all arms are generic. Faces are individual, including necks, so they can add tats there.

The only reason players have neck tattoos is because they get picked up by the head scans. It has been stated multiple, multiple times that the MLB doesn't allow any other tattoos in the games because that isn't the lasting image they want for their product. Same reason there aren't tattoos in Madden or NCAA. We most likely won't ever see them in video games.

I do not think it matters if he regrets it or not with tats. I am not sure, but don't think so.

It does explain why he doesn't have tatoos on many of the products with his likeness.

I think specifically for the Show its what i said though, the models. Homer Bailey and Mat Latos of the Reds both have tattoos on their arms but they aren't in the game.

For some reason neck tattoos are in (ie Yadier Molina, Prince Fielder) yet arm tattoos are not (Josh Hamilton, Joel Zumaya, Mat Latos and most glaringly, Ryan Roberts)...

Tattoos also aren't an option in Create-A-Player.

NBA 2k12 did a great job with player tattoos and faces, it did nothing but IMPROVE their game. I don't understand why the MLB feels that would be bad for their image.

Hopefully they can be added in future installments (maybe PS4?) It's funny seeing a guy like Ryan Roberts from Arizona without any tattoos. He looks naked.

That sounds like bogus excuse. If they were worried about image issues and tats....they'd make players with tats cover them up. And if MLB had an issue with tattoos being in the game, they would request the neck tattoos to be removed.

Sounds like video game companies are just lazy, besides 2KSports which actually took the time to make their game realistic.
