    Foul balls behind catcher.

I have noticed that many foul balls hit behind the catcher will not activate the catcher fielding control. Several times the ball was fouled high and simply landed in foul territory. These were very catchable balls. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so is it a bug or somehow deemed unplayable. It's very odd to me that a playable ball just floats down with no way to play it.

I have seen some that they catcher got an oddly late start towards, but I think some of what you are seeing are foul ball choppers from the new physics. 5 or so times a game I see foul balls that hit the ground and bounce up like 20ft, maybe what you are seeing is some of those?

It sure seems like they just float up then down I will replay the pitch and look the next time this happens. I played the nyy against the tigers in season mode and saw this happen three or four times. It was a 10-7 loss for the tigers. I sure could have used the outs.
      Thanks for the reply

This has definitely happened multiple times, especially with my RTTS player. I just thought that it may be due to the new physics system. Perhaps the balls are seen by the cpu as uncatchable, like foul balls in the stands.

Yeah, you're seeing the chopped grounders thqt are foul.

Physics still aren't perfect, but this is the angle of the ball off the bat that you're witnessing.
