Any chances of a NFL 2K comeback?
I recently read that 2K is trying to get the license this year. Is this information true or false? Because I personally believe It's 100 times better than Madden.Tags: None -
Re: Any chances of a NFL 2K comeback?
Just because the EA deal is set to end doesn't mean they won't renew it. I doubt EA will give up the NFL License and I don't think 2K has the money to compete with EA for the license. Where did you read that 2K was trying to get the license?Comment

Re: Any chances of a NFL 2K comeback?
I read a story maybe a year ago that 2k had approached NFLPA for licensing and was sellng assets and whatnot to come up with the cash. Cant for the life of me remember where i read it though.Comment

Re: Any chances of a NFL 2K comeback?
While I too believe the EA/NFL exclusive is ending after the 2013-14 NFL season/Madden 14, that makes it impossible for 2k to put out a NFL football game until then. If NFL2k did somehow make a comeback on these consoles after the exclusive license expired, it would probably just be a NFL branded APF2k8 rather than a new game.
I started this thread earlier this year in the Madden forum discussing why I think the NFL exclusive is ending. http://www.operationsports.com/forum...e-license.htmlComment

2k football needs to come back. They actually focused on core gameplay issues unlike some other game that only looks pretty but doesn't actually FEEL like football.Comment

Re: Any chances of a NFL 2K comeback?
Nike took the exclusive license from Reebok by making a better product by continuing to manufacture for other forms of football & becoming a higher demand than Reebook because they showed they are more creative...apparently the 2K team doesn't understand that.Comment

They can't make an NFL game, they can make a NCAA game or FULLY customizable game like they used to make on PC football games without a license.Comment

Re: Any chances of a NFL 2K comeback?
The NFL doesn't care how creative a company is going to be. If you don't have the money, the NFL doesn't care. People will continue to buy Madden because it's the only thing we have. We say every year we won't buy it so EA loses money and is forced to give up the license because they're losing money, but we are the same people the get the game within a week of the release every year because we need it.--

Re: Any chances of a NFL 2K comeback?
True, but Nike is a much bigger company than Reebok, thus having the finances and resources to put into the product. You can't say the same about a 2K vs EA. Until there is no exclusive rights or 2K ponies up a lot more money to persuade the NFL to remove exclusive rights there will only be one game in town.Comment

Re: Any chances of a NFL 2K comeback?
I just want to see the exclusive license done away with in video games. 2k games online are absolute horrid, so there lies the drawback of them having an exclusive license (plus see how bad MLB series has fallen). Just give us a chance to CHOOSE and give us competition again. Because I bet EA would make an awesome NFL GAME if the had someone to push them.Ca$hville 4 Life...

Re: Any chances of a NFL 2K comeback?
Competion for a product is not the way the NFL does business. The NFL wants an exclusive rights type of deal, that's the way they do all of their business, from uniforms and equipment to broadcasts it's always exclusive.Comment
