MLB 12: Guess pitch on rookie still like in MLB 11?

I really wanted them to switch back to MLB 10's version of guess pitch, where if you guess the pitch only it shows you location.

Is this back? It made it a lot more fun multiplayer with friends - last year we barely played MLB 11 because that aspect of the game was lost.

I assume it's out still, but came here for confirmation that I shouldn't purchase the game. Thanks guys.

Hate to tell you this, but if it's the same GP mode I'm thinking of, it was never taken out (including back in '11). "Default" GP is where the strike zone only quick-flashes the general location if you guess it correctly.

Oh wait....you mean on Rookie difficulty. Let me check.

Edit: Yep. Seems to be in.

      Here was the difference:

10: Rookie Mode. I guess pitch only (NOT LOCATION) and location/confirmation is shown as a pulsating red circle.

11: Rookie Mode. I guess pitch only (NOT LOCATION) and confirmation is shown as a "DING" sound and red box. (No location shown for the pitch)

      12: ???

Oh...okay. I'll check on it in a bit - that may not have changed after all. That sounds like one of the classic GP modes if the red circle is involved.

Gotta play a Madden OF game right now so I can't check right away.

          No problem, thanks for looking!

It was Classic 1/4 by the way. But they just changed the way ROOKIE mode worked with Classic 1/4, making you have to guess both the pitch and location to get the "ultimate" payout. Used to just be guessing the pitch alone.

Yeah, it still only shows the corners lighting up on a correct pitch guess and not the exact location (unless you guess location correctly too). So I guess it's the same as last year.

Quite disappointed by this - don't know why it couldn't at least be an option. They never seem to remove a given option from the game except for this one!
