OS All-Time Classic Roster (The Show '12)

Hey guys,

I wanted to separate the roster "idea" thread I had, and the actual thread for the first roster we will be creating. After much debate and many great suggestions, I will be starting out with a roster set that features each team's all time best players to play for each franchise. There will be no repeat of players, so each player will only be in the roster one time.

With the help of Hoser, we have put together a spreadsheet to detail who will be on each team. The roster will include 40-Man rosters for each team.

Another reason I wanted to separate this thread from the idea thread was because I wanted my name out of the title. Thus far I have gotten a ton of help from the OS community, and this will truly be an OS Community roster.

This thread will be used to update progress as well as take on any suggestions, or help that is offered from the community. If anybody wants to volunteer to take on some teams let me know!

I will keep you guys updated! In the mean time, feel free to claim a team. Not to worry though, I will complete any team that's not filled.

I'll get started on the Giants tonight if that's cool. Gives me something to do until OSFM is out.

I'm pretty good at faces, but not great.

Also, is Csura involved in this? He should be. I'm going to ask him if I can use his Willie Mays.

And pjsnell10, can I use your Will Clark?

I'm bedwardsroy19, I just made a thread to separate the ideas for a roster and the actual roster we are making.

It didn't seem fair to me that I had my name on the thread title when so many had came up to me offering help. Wanted to give the set more of a community feel

People wanted updates on progress, so I thought I would highlight the players as they are completed...

Green will be the players that are in the roster currently
Yellow will be the players that have been "claimed" by an OS user (basically players that are in progress)
Blank will mean the players are currently unclaimed

I've got all of the A's done, minus 3 I believe. I should be able to finish those three by the end of the weekend.

I've been making A's players primarily, but I have added a few others to the vault, Clark, Mays, Justice, a decent Mantle, etc, so please use them if they're made by me.

Next thing is, how are these players going to be rated? Would using career statistics be easiest? Using career years don't seem right (Brady Anderson etc). Or are we using something in between? The A's are ready to go, just want to see how we can rate them to make a level playing field.

Next off, you can sign me up for the Yankees and Dodgers to start off with.

I've also got a really good Walt Weiss, Mike Moore, Storm Davis and Dave Parker I can add.

What about potentials? Are we making everyone an A or do you want to see some B's and C's?

Also, what age do we make everyone? Not sure if this matters at all. Just curious before I get started.

You can make them all A's... It's meant for season mode...

Age also is not too important, just dont make it ridiculous (like 20-30 range)

So I was approached by Scooter3 about his classic player creations, and his passion for making faces, and let me tell you guys... I was absolutely blown away with the players he has made so far.

I have not seen better face creations in my experience with the game. Scooter has let me know he wants to be a key contributor with this project along with some of the other great editors we have aboard such as pjsnell10, juicer420, hoser, and myself.

Honestly, when the roster is compiled completely, you will see some of the best facial work that the show has seen. In my opinion, our edits may actually be better than some SCEA models that could be provided.

I strongly recommend that you all go check out Scooter3's player creations. His PSN is "BigKlu" and has the best creations I have seen in the player vault. He will be particularly specializing in the creation of older players.

Glad that we are starting to form a solid team for this set! Progress will be made and you will all be able to see how it is going through the spreadsheet on the first post!

I caught Scooter's post before he deleted it, checked out his stuff just to see what he had. I must say it was really good, his Koufax is as good as they come. Glad to have him on board!

So whats the good word on ratings?
