Mickey Loomis listened to opponent headset interactions, allegedly

From 2002-2004, Loomis had a device that allowed him to tap into the interactions between opposing team's coaches in their headsets during Superdome games, allegedly, according to ESPN's Outside The Lines.

Every coach and all of upper management in New Orleans should be suspended indefinitely from the NFL.

First this between 2002-2004 and now the bounty system. This whole situation makes Spygate look like child's play.

Yep everyone needs to go, make them start completely over like an expansion team, but also limit the number of high priced FAs they couldn't sign anyone they wanted to.

Everyone needs to go for something that happened allegedly in '02-'04?

It's a stupid thing to do there's no denying that, but I'm not going to rush to judgement until it's actually proven true instead of just an ESPN report

It's not ESPN, it's Outside the Lines. I just want to point out that there's a difference there.

Re: Mickey Loomis listened to opponent headset interactions, allegedly

And The Saints have already come out denying it completely and are supposedly already looking into legal action for these claims against Loomis as well as the NFL having no clue yet.

I'm not saying it's true or not, i'm just waiting for the facts one way or the other.

If true the Saints were listening in on coaches. Later you had the Sean Payton painkiller scandal. Now in 2012 we have the bounty system situation. As a whole the Saints organisation have been involved in controversy for 10 years now.

So yeah, this whole thing makes Spygate seem not as bad as it was first made out to be. Not saying the Patriots weren't wrong for what they did.

Re: Mickey Loomis listened to opponent headset interactions, allegedly

Sources would have to come forward to really prove anything like this and even then at this point would still be a he said/she said barring evidence (recordings?). I agree with Polian on ESPN (which PFT is parroting) who said a GM listening to opposing coaches during the game creates almost zero advantage and makes no sense to do really. You can't really communicate that onto the field in a timely fashion and recording it for your own coaches probably is also useless for providing any future advantage.

Meh, I guess. Seems to be a bit of a reach IMO.

I'd separate this from the whole Bounty deal and the Painkiller deal as well. Was mainly just talking about this story coming out and Spygate and even if we just compare these two then so far Spygate is still worse than this.

                            This I can agree with.

Still think the NFL needs to clean house in New Orleans.

Its already been mentioned but as the article states it is "Alleged" that this occurred up until hurricane Katrina. I'll wait for the facts before I rush to judgement. Never thought I would get burnt out on news about my favorite team....
